Really you got all that of one short clip? Schoenmakers was just wanting to be one of the boys and go drinking! Nothing more or less…. An he paid for that behaviour, almost fell out of the draft completely
A lot more reported behind the scenes about Schoenmaker, supplying alcohol to minors seems to be on the lighter side of things he's been associated with.

Him being selected though means that we can watch Watto embarrass him for (at least two) years to come!

Sounds like he ended up in right place.

Moore isn't a small forward, he's a HFF that pushes up the ground and stretches opposition zones.
Breust is aging and could easily drop off a cliff.
Watson isn't just a small forward, he will spend time cross halfback and half forward.

Good teams need 3 small forwards which is exactly what we will have.
Thinking Sammy might have the three rotating thru HHF and FP, let the opposition defenders try and keep track of them 😂😂😂😂

It's at moments like this you realise how disproportionate the media's focus on the draft actually is. I think I've heard more media interviews with Harley Reid in the past few months than I heard from Buddy over the course of his career.

Don't get me wrong, I like hearing from Watson but the kid doesn't have a number yet.

They've learned nothing from all the mid - level pick 1 players over the years.

Yep, get excited, that's the fun of it. But spread it around. Every club has fans that want to hear about other draftees

I was thinking more about the other players on the list, many of whom are likely to have a greater influence on our club's fortunes next year.

That’s because until Jesinta got him ample media training Buddy sounded utterly terrible in an interview.

Don’t think he got any better

He can construct a sentence these days at least - compared to his Hawthorn days it’s noticeably better even if he’s still not a gifted speaker.

Pffft...

How to say you've never thrown dodecahedron dice without saying I've never thrown dodecahedron dice.
That's a D12, he was huh'ing at the d10.

Might need our boards fact guru to back this up but I was just wondering who is the shortest ever player to wear a Hawthorn guernsey. We know Noodle is the tallest at 209cm (6'10") and with a quick google search I came up with Ern Utting who was 166cm (5'5").

The list of 7 players below were awarded 2 x Brownlow's, 1 x Norm Smith, team leading goal kickers and Team of the Century awards. Oh and the funniest fun fact that made me laugh is Ern Utting's nickname was 'Tich'.

Shane Crawford i think was 174cm and would fit nicely in that company.

Also worth noting that Jake Rogers who was picked 14th by the Suns is also 170cm. IMO with the way the game is played these days around the protection of the head it is going to allow more and more shorter players to succeed at the top level. The key for this to happen is they have to be quick which both Watson and Rogers are.
