Brutal but I think he is a list clogger

As much as i want to dislike this i tend to agree. 1st round pick drafted
Redrafted as a rookie might be a good wake up call for him. The shock of being cut from the list followed by the relief of being redrafted as a rookie could be enough to make him realise he needs to take his chances to make it as an AFL player.

I have a feeling if he is delisted we won't get a chance to rookie him.

Supposedly was some interest from clubs during trade period.

If he's delisted then he will be replaced by pick 108

Spot on. Must keep him.

Is it possible Sam Mitchell may have put in a good word to the list manager about keeping Lovell on for another year? At West Coast Sheed and Redden both had career best seasons.

Coincidentally the 2 games that Lovell last played was back in 2016 alongside Mitchell who would have worked with him at training sessions and would probably know of his strength and weaknesses.

I doubt it. But maybe the club is thinking that he is worth one more year to see what Mitch can do with him, rather than Mitch requesting it...

Perhaps we should concentrate on his strength as an inside midfielder rather than persist with developing his HHF game. Nathan Buckley this year attributed this years improvement to playing to their strengths rather than perfect flaws in their game.

Play him off the bench giving Titch some much needed cover.

I have my doubts, what's he really good at ?

Historically, getting the ball was his thing. Second best player in the history of the U18 comps at pure accumulating.

He's also got a very quick first few steps and has amazing agility. Not sure why he hasn't come on more.

Sicily, Breust, suckling, whitecross just to name a few who have done an apprenticeship at the hawks. Playing afl footy is not easy and everyone is not always prepared for the challenge. Scrimshaw is another example. These kids have talent, we hope that the system will unlock it all. Even the great Sam Mitchell has to develope before getting a shot at afl. I like what Lovell brings, you can see confidence is the key. Played most of last year so hoping that is the catalyst for the next step with some quality coaching like Mitchell

Have we been too focussed on developing the lesser parts of his game & not letting him develop what is/are already his strengths, perhaps?
