You know, I saw Petracca included and wasn't sure he should be in the list. So I checked his debut highlights. He didn't debut until he was 20 but it was a pretty good first game. The funniest thing though was, who was he kicking into the forward pocket to?... Sam FrostFor us, the ones that come to mind are Jarman, Cyril & Buddy that I recall as SAFS (Stars at first sight).
From other clubs some that come to mind are Buckley, Voss, Riccuito, Martin, Heeney, Bontempelli, Petracca, Nick Daicos, Jason Horne Francis, Sheezel, Rozee.
Leaving Josh Ward out is a bit harsh.Dal Santo, Luke Power, Sam Mitchell - he has a likeness to each.
I can't remember too many 18 year olds who have hit the ground running for us.
Rioli, Ellis, Day, MacKenzie.

Lots of comparisons to Mitchell i was thinking they were just due to blonde midfielder in 28 yet he definitely has the little steps that Sam had to find time in a stoppage. Take two steps forward and 1 to the side while defenders take 4 in the other direction.
Plus his kicking is phenomenal.
What makes this more remarkable when you compare to Mitchell is the comparison is to a prime Mitchell in 2012 and Cam has the skills and decision making, plus more height, speed, kicking penetration. Lacks the all day tank and ability to rack up 30 touches while tagged but I'd say he's above the 2002 Mitchell who was a fat kid who bombed it out of every clearance.
Champion.Birchall.
Won some contests that he had no right too given his age and experience. He's looking more than the goods, pretty amazing when you can tell even in a flogging like that one.Quiet day for Mackenzie, though hard for him not playing as a mid.
Thought he did some really nice things with the 6 cba’s he did get. Had 2 centre clearances.
He could well rotate through there, but doubt it. His first game as a midfielder was really really good & his kicking inside 50 is class, get him in the middle, wing and rotate HF/HB and get him on the field as much as possible, but keep him involved, don't let him go deep fwd or deep defense.Wonder if we could play him in the Daicos and Sheezel role. Mackenzie had at least played HBF before moving into the midfield, and the more we get the ball into his hands the better.
Why? He's a midfielder why waste development time on the back flank so he rank up meaningless stats?Wonder if we could play him in the Daicos and Sheezel role. Mackenzie had at least played HBF before moving into the midfield, and the more we get the ball into his hands the better.
He will play hff and maybe even hbf its part of his development. He cant play the entire game in the middle mate. Its also to protect him physically similar to the way CMAC was played. He can hopefully play out the whole season this wayWhy? He's a midfielder why waste development time on the back flank so he rank up meaningless stats?
9 of his 12 disposals were contested that was his biggest weakness in his draft year.
i've wondered about this for WardWonder if we could play him in the Daicos and Sheezel role. Mackenzie had at least played HBF before moving into the midfield, and the more we get the ball into his hands the better.

His midfield work has been good so far.
He only attended 6 CBA's on the weekend though and was unable to really get involved in the game - as opposed to his 16 CBA's last week. For whatever reason Mitchell threw him in there less. So it could be a good way to get him involved in the game when he's not playing through the middle.
