Well, game 2 he started as an inside mid.

The rest of the games he played HFF/dead wing role.

Hopefully McQualter actually plays players in roles they were drafted for.
I actually thought he was unfairly shafted out to the gimp wing but this board seemed to think he was indeed useless. 🤷

It's weird that he attributed 2018's success to playing players in their best positions then went away from that after.

Can’t play players in their positions when the credits crew were unable to be displaced.

senior players should be the ones forced to adjust into new roles and young players to play their more natural games.

Cripps has probably never been dropped since he started at the club.

18 WAFL games: 7 before he was drafted, 9 under Whoosh in 2013 [god love him] and 2 WAFL games in 2014. Hasn't been sighted there since. 10 seasons without a WAFL game even coming back from injury, must be nice.

Yeah it’s crazy for someone who isn’t a match winner. No doubt a good role player and role model, but has had a fair few stinkers over the years (WB at marvel a few years ago still hurts) and has struggled when returning from injury

Is that the game where he kicked 1 goal 5? Pretty standard return for him I'd of thought.

I'm not obsessed with him or anything, but I did once count how many small forwards the club has taken and then let go in this period Cripps wasn't dropped or rested a single game and its somewhere above 40 players.

Annoys me, I recognise he brings running to the mix but his skill level as a small forward is the stuff of nightmares. It's actually wild how many shots on goal he has, like you see a game where he's kicked 5 or a season like this year where he kicked 27 goals and go yeah that's quality. But that 5 goes down as a career best game and he's actually had something like 13 shots on goal for that. Kicked 27.27 this year so including out of bounds or shots that fall short he's probably taken like 65 shots on goal. People don't realise that all things being equal the side can only generate so many opportunities and he's actually taking as many shots as some key forwards [more than Darling of late] but his conversion rate is trash.

It'll be interesting to see how he goes with Owies in the side, you look at him and see he's kicked 33 goals to Cripps 27 but then it turns out he'd kicked 33.13 vs 27.27. Doing more with less.

Interesting comparison they both played 23 games, both had 35 marks inside 50 [5 contested each] almost the same for goal assists. Cripps plays a different role that gets him more of the ball [seems to be that Owies doesn't get any ball at stoppages but Cripps does] but Owies is way more efficient. A lot of Cripps extra possessions seems to be wasted in on turnovers if you compare the 2.

Interesting place to participate in Jamie Cripps slander....

Jamie has consistently been amongst our top couple of score involvement players, and does a tonne of work linking the mids and the forwards. Have a combined 500 goals and goal assists.

Hitting the wall with age at the moment, but has been a very important player for us (especially post LeCras)
