Re: West coast can still win the flag. Only a fool would write them off

yeah your flogging to Brisbane last week made you a real powerhouse this week

I remeber being flaogged by bombers in 89 and 90...in 91 we got flogged in the GF. yah know what we won a flag that year in 92 after copping some real hidings.....like I said...

Hawks copped a flogging last week they can still win the flag....wheres the difference??

so many threads by Coasters fans trying to hose things down! Not all of those players are out due to injury.
Who's hosing anything down? Many Eagles fans think we are genuinely in trouble - and no one's have a knee-jerk reaction over getting belted. The simple fact is the Eagles as of this afternoon are officially in trouble. Their flag chances nosedived today - not because they lost a game but the predicament they find themselves in regarding form and injury.

It's very much a big bump on the road to finals this year. They need to get the midfield back up and running without Judd because of his injuries and also trying to find someone to replace Kerr while he does his time on suspension.

Ok lets compare this shall we

Hawthorn, a respected team sitting second on the ladder goes to Adelaide and gets thumped

West Coast, a respected team sitting second on the ladder goes to Adelaide and gets thumped

Can you remind me again why your enjoying this so much since your in the exact same situation as us?

because we're gonna win tommorrow, so that puts us 1 in front.

dont think hawks has the same respect as WC IMO

Re: West coast can still win the flag. Only a fool would write them off

Yeah the media willl be all over us...Gone, No good, rah rah rah media crap from Vic media and west.

But in 2 weeks we'll have Kerr, Couisn Stenglein Fletcher Hansen will be back......thats 150 possessions right there
I doubt that, 5 have to go out for 5 to go in. They'd have to average 40 possesions at least to get an extra 150 possesions. 40 possies x 5 players (possessions from the ins) - 50 (minimum possies from the guys that were in that are being replaced) = 150

If we can finish anywhere in the top 5 or 6th we can win the flag.
Doubt that, yets say the ladder finishes as
1. Geelong, 2. Hawthorn, 3. Collingwood, 4. Adelaide, 5. West Coast and so on... you'd win the first round quite comfortably, but than you'd have to verse Adelaide at AAMI, than Hawthorn, and if u win that u verse Geelong in the GF. Sorry but to have a good chance of winning the GF you have to finish in the top 4.

I'm still a believer.

There's still enough time for us to turn it around, win our last four games of the H&A season, pinch a home final and head into September with a head of steam.

That might not happen, but we're not gawn yet.

When you get belted like we did today, it creates doubts about your chances.

But WC will still be in the top 4 after this weekend, and the side that takes the park in R17 will very different to the one that had its pants pulled down today by Port.

I'm still a believer.

Mark it down: The Eagles are gaaaaaaaaawn!

They may stumble into the finals, but that is all. Perhaps if they played Adelaide every final they could win, but yeah...

They have relied heavily on run, and athleticism, and haven't had a solid spine that gives solidarity. Without a fleet of class runners they are very ordinary, because the game plan of the recent successful 2 yrs has been just a mayhem of overwhelming the opposition with run and numbers and that's it. Tactically Worsfold isn't that great, and to me would hardly have the capacity of throwing up anything creativite that would catch the opposition unaware.

End of the era? One hickup year, but with a return of injured players, they could juice up the runners and overwhelm once again next year.

What? Another thread bumped by Gunnar...what a shock! I bet you have a little giggle to yourself each time you do it
What do you have against threads being bumped?

That's the whole point of people's posts being recorded - we can refer back to them at a later date.

I don't understand why you refer to bumping a thread as though it's against the rules or bad form.

What do you have against threads being bumped?

I don't have a real problem with the odd bump here and there but you seem to do it more than most. Why is that?

That's the whole point of people's posts being recorded - we can refer back to them at a later date.

Is it really the whole point? Where does it say it in the "forum constitution?"

I don't understand why you refer to bumping a thread as though it's against the rules or bad form.

So why do you continue to bump threads? Does it give you some self satisfaction?

Do you like being the first to rub it in? Is this your way of "educating the savages?" To bump threads in which people have made an opinion/prediction and it doesn't quite go the way they thought

because we're gonna win tommorrow, so that puts us 1 in front.

And this weekend we see a complete reversal.

The only thing guarenteed is that Geelong will finish the season in top spot. Everything else is completely open.

Wow - that's compelling.

Read the rest of my post.

I reckon the people who don't like threads being bumped are the ones who make stupid comments and don't like to be reminded of them.

Like the putz who started this gem before last year's GF:

I understand why you don't like threads being bumped.

Yes a very stupid comment from myself. West Coast wins by only 1 point, with very limited scoring in the second half, and most scores in the first half coming from midfielders.

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Considering their injuries, while you had your best team, plus the umpires, I wouldn't be gloating too much.
I see injuries are OK as an excuse when the boot is on the other foot Mantis.

Last week, when a non-eagles supporter was talking about the injuries we had, you said "Here come the excuses " yet you feel perfectly fine to use them as a reason why Sydney lost, along with the typical umpires whinge.

Why is that? Do you really hate us that much, are you that consumed by bitter and twisted thoughts that you can't possible fathom a deserved Eagles win? Actually, don't answer that.

Go Eagles :thumbsu:

Also we were still missing Nicoski, Fletcher and Wirrapunda from out best 22, so don't give me this best team crap.
