My only fear is that Essendon rested a lot of their players last week and would have been setting their sights on this match.

They would have envisioned that they'd be playing Collingwood at the G, but still.
I think this game is won or lost in the first qtr, will see which team comes with the most intent.

Only way i can see Essendon wining if the score board is close all game or we come out of the gates and pile on 3-4 quick goals in the first.

The first 10 mins will tell us which team is on imo

The eagles are just relieved they don’t have to front up against the hawks again and face a straight sets exit, so standing up against a bombers opponent is like an early Christmas present. The loser of the pies cats game will be slightly worried already I’d say

Dear geelong - we know what its like to play “home finals” at the mcg

we in the west fully support your campaign to play all your home finals at kp

Next year

Weagles have played pretty bad footy for the most part of their last 7 quarters. A few purple patches where they kick 2 or 3 goals in a few minutes, but they've generally been bad since quarter time against Richmond at the G.

Had their ball movement completely stifled by Richmond for 3 quarters, and hawthorn for 4, and too often were pressured into launching a long high ball down Sicily/Vlaustin's throat.

I do doubt the bomber's ability to suffocate West Coast's movement for an entire game, however Mckernan/Stringer and any other tall forwards could pose a problem for Barrass, who's been down on his usual ability to win one on one contests.

We were shit against your mob fairs fair

But to say we were shit against richmond for all but the first makes me wonder how we lost by a kick

Parochialism aside, It’s been a frustrating year for WC supporters. Apart from the game against The Dockers, they have just scraped by. There have only been brief moments of direct, aggressive, and attacking football and the lack of intensity just hasn’t held up at the pointy end of the season. They’ve got to address this.
The tactic of trying to retain possession by passing it around half back is a good example of this conservatism and unwillingness to impose themselves on the game. Often they go back from a better position and after switching it go to a 50/50 closer to their defence on another side. It’s a poor play because, not only have they lost time, they lose that momentum and turn it over. It’s a defensive mentality that’s certainly not going to win them a premiership this year.
As for this year, there’s a big difference compared to last and I think some of it is due to the loss of Mitchell’s shrewd and aggressive players mentorship and coaching.
Nevertheless, it’s ultimately up to the players on the field and they still have a chance to go back to back. This very rarely comes along. Only great teams achieve this and they do it through an aggressive style and ambush mentality that signals to other teams an irrepressible dominance.
Hope they can flick the switch, come out of their shell, and turn it around for WA.

I give Essendon a big chance. They'll be far hungrier than West Coast who won the flag last year and now that they've missed the double chance, they might not give themselves as much chance since it's highly unlikely they'll win 3 away finals if they get through this one.

In the immortal words of the late great Brooklyn warrior poet Christoper "Biggie" Wallace:

The Moet and Alize keep me pissy, girls used to dis me
And now they write letters coz they miss me

I never thought it could happen, this rappin' stuff
I was too used to packin' gats and stuff

And now honeys play me close like butter play toast
Can't wait to watch Essendon get flogged offa West Coast.

Massive game here fellas. West Coast are on the ropes after a real poor performance. The bombers are feeling pretty good about themselves after winning in Perth recently. A few absolute guns return for the dons adding structure, experience and confidence to our team. Woosha under the pump coaching for his life against the club that made him famous. The Bombers not winning a final for 15 years they will come out hungry looking to smash the eagles and silence the crowd. With all the scandals, injuries and rumors swirling around the club this is the time for the new Essendon to be born.

.....

West Coast by 10+ goals.
