Was incredible overall, had goosebumps at the Roughy and Toyd parts:

Being critical here but I think they could've done without two parts:
1) The interview with the rich guy who donates money, that was unnecessary as he didn't reveal any figures, then they asked a random qn about his wife, which led to nothing?

2) Also could've done without the Footscray mayor lady having the final word of the doco, or her interview in general.

This was the strange part, I think involving him served its purpose but didn't understand the bold bit.

Anyone know the story?

I think it was only to show how cagey and private he is.

Sheehan obv picked it to give a flavour of the man. Really, as a benefactor his most relevant and important characteristic is that he is a wealthy bloke who loves (absolutely loves) the club and wants to quietly contribute without any accolades.

Which is why I think Hemsworth and not him should be our no.1 ticket holder

I found it interesting that Mike did not introduce him as our #1 ticketholder despite that being the most obvious title to know him by.

Combined with the AFL ad, I wouldn't be surprised if this change has already been made.

Bloke obviously doesn't give two shits about recognition (which is fine, neither would I in that position tbh, would rob some of the clear joy one gets as a supporter)

+1 from me on both of those points.

I would have preferred more interviews with a couple of players than both of those segments. The Hawks got a lot more of those during the GF Recall programs than we got in the Open Mike version that Fox went with this year.

That rich guy is a big part of us even having a team to follow let alone one able to win the premiership? We owe a lot to him :)

I thought interviewing Johnstone was a nice touch, but I was really let down by the editing.

There are many more insightful questions to be asked of our #1 ticket holder in a premiership year than simply, "How much money do you give the club?" and, "Well you weren't always rich."

Oh that was fantastic. I am glad I am not the only one in love with Moz.

At the season launch I walked over to Moz and then realised he had just been served his main course, he saw me and straight away with a big smile on his face stood up. I said I would come back but he said it was ok and signed my poster and was happy to chat, such a legend.

Later I went over to Boyd and asked him for the signature of the famous number 17, he gave me a big grin and said he was number 17, but he wasn't famous. No big heads at our club.

wow

that was a good watch.

i loved that they gave some exposure to the Tom Boyd/Peter Gordon story. It's easy to forget now that we're premiers just how unlikely it is to get decisions like that vindicated in such a clear manner. Credit to Tom for bearing so much abuse and still repaying the faith.

loved the part where Bevo talked about the game. Not sure i've seen anyone on bigfooty be able to identify a change in CD and Hunter's roles as a significant tactical change. Then he goes on to talk about how if we were to continue that strategy (which he doesn't confirm) how we would disguise it. He's always giving off the signal that he is in control and he has the answers. Deserves our trust he does.

other interesting little pointers-

1. PG and Smorgon still are healthy rivals. They'll never be best buddies. But you've gotta love them both, and it's really nice that I got to see Smorgo involved in all this celebrating because it was in my hopeful/hopeless years of youth i'd dream of him bringing us a flag.

2. Matty Boyd's insight on why he didn't retire was brilliant. I understand exactly what he means. He wants to experience what it's like being king willy. Being envied. Being the best. Expecting victory.

Interesting some of the feedback to my first post. As a viewer I didn't quite gauge the point of the Alan Johnstone segment but some of your posts have provided more clarity of his importance. Still stand by post that we could've done without him or the Footscray Mayor and had additional player interviews. We didn't even get to hear from Bont or JJ?

24 Hours later and speaking to a few colleagues today, I would've rathered a premiership reflection in the cinema with the players, like the Hawthorn ones. The highlight of last nights doco were the stories and insight from gameday from Bev & the boys, we had heard most other things from Gordan, Smith, etc. Anyone know why we didn't get a reflection?

"Something went wrong mid way through 2014"

Yeah the players worked out he was the worst coach in the history of our club.

That comment from Gordon seemed very specific but he wouldn't say what it was. Has this come out elsewhere?
