Freijah spoke on local radio over the weekend about this year and next. He spoke outstandingly so composed and mature just like on the field. He was big wraps on Bevo, Bont, Liam Jones and Libba. He did that he think Sanders will take things to another level next year and to keep an eye out for him. He also said Jacques will be living with him and McNeil next year now that Bendendo has left the club.

It makes you wonder how someone like Freijah could slip through every single club recruiting department given the amount of high end traits he seemingly possesses.

He only turned 19 last week as well.

The fact that he did slip through means there’s still uncertainty, opportunity and romance left in the draft. Despite the fact that every year the draft pool is cut, sliced and diced every which way and is over-analysed to death.

I love the fact that for all that, the scouts, recruiters and specialist draft pundits are never more than 95% right.

Geez, I much prefer these shades of red and blue to what's been used the last few years.
I disagree. The true royal blue we have now is much better and traditional. We don’t clash with dark teams as much too. We got a bit darker in the 90’s but that was probably just poor replication of colours from less competent manufacturers rather than consciously.

I think I saw in the video that arty was in 4th or 5th place to finish. Good sign.
Yeah, he and JOD were battling to the line at the end there.

I almost didn't recognise JOD, seems to have bulked up a bit.

Plus Lobb, Weightman, Arty Jones, Scott, Duryea and Liber. Or at least they were in the video of arrivals the club posted.
Gardner there too.

Interesting that Mennedy run it, I guess he's a first year "arrival", but still...

Running 2kms isnt exactly hard training, and it would give them an idea of where they sit relative to AFL players
Speak for yourself.

Me after 2km

Most recruits tend to rock up as soon as possible, no matter the age. Rory Lobb was in with the 1-4yr players after he came across via trade. I think it is a smart move. Get in, build a routine, get to know the blokes and the facilities etc, and set a good first impression.

Hard to keep your powder dry with Freijah

  • dominant jnr game of 30+ disposals, 5+ goals.
  • largely under the radar on draft boards.
  • late bday
  • comes into a senior team and looks composed and makes an impact straight away
  • BOG in a VFL final.
  • highly dedicated professional attitude. (First in time trial)
  • speaks like and takes on responsibilities like a player 10 years his senior

remind you of anyone? 🤔
