Is he completely over his serious wrist injury from last year, and good to go for round 1 (and/or the NAB Cup ???)

Pauly is rapidly becoming one of my very fave players at Carlton, just love the way he goes about his footy, and was one of our unheralded shining lights last season, and one thing is for sure, he'll never die wondering Pauly, the way he goes about his footy ..

Still only 21 years old, and has got a really great future at the club.

Personally I'm of the belief he'll be better suited as a flanker type dashing defender then Key Position, but anyhow he is one of the players to look for in 2009.

he played some of the later rounds last year in the side didnt he? if he didnt play in the 1's he definately played with the ants late in the year.

over it and I assume training well as the standard cliche goes... "no news is good news!"

Remember reading after we drafted him WH quoted as saying he expected him to end up with a really big frame (probably because he had some Moari blood in him and he was bottom aged)

Opposite has turned out to be the case, and it has been a really slow and gradual muscle build for PB. I expect gradual strength increases will continue for next 2-4 yrs and he will peak a little later physically than some others.

Love the bloke - his dash out of defense and willingess to back himself is fantastic. He has a great spoil on him, and good closing pace. Personally, i see him as our CHB from 2010 onwards. Until then a 3rd tall.

I took this pic a few weeks ago at training, as he was the first person that really stood out to me as i noticed he has bulked up heaps over the break.

Really like the way he goes about his footy. Tall, fast and talented. Can play on smalls or talls, but is much more than a negating defender. Have noticed from day 1, that he is very good in congestion, almost Gibbs-like in terms of fast reactions. Often the first one to fire a handball out from packs. Plays with confidence, and seems to enjoy taking on the opposition by choosing the high risk high payoff clearance option. A massive talent, with a lot of versatility and upside. :)

Dunno about being a flanker, a lot of BF users are short sighted and I recon he might be our best defender one day.

Agree. He'll be our CHB imho. Don't really care if people laugh and can't see that, as i've been saying he'll be a star from the moment we drafted him, and continued to talk him up even during the time period where this whole board bagged the shit out of him. From day 1 i've said he'll be All Australian, and i still emphatically believe that. He's ma boy, will be a star

He hasn't been in the injury group all pre-season...

Trained with the main group for the few times I have gone out and watched us train. Showing no signs of the wrist injury that kept him out for a lengthy time last year. Expecting him to have another good year in 2009.

:) Yada, yada, yada...

PAUL-E PAUL-E PAUL-E!

Hehe, really stepped up this year (from the limited game time he had).
I was simply in awe of the way he handled Bradshaw in Rd 21. I was simply bewildered as to how his frame was holding up against Bradshaw's, outpointing him in the contest despite the size difference. Like Jamison, seems to have all the tools a modern day defender needs. :thumbsu:

Is he looking bigger? I love this bloke (in a man sort of way) hope he has a big injury free season.

An injury free season from Bower could suprise alot of people, he is an extremely rare talent athletic with a good build that will only get bigger and loves to take the game on. Might end up an absolute FREAK

I"m waiting with baited breath for your description of Robbo stripy ;)

the injury you guys are referring to is the one against geelong isnt it? if so it was a collarbone injury, he came back to WA and we caught up for lunch, he showed me the photos of it when he first got into the changerooms.... horrific.

He will be a fantastic player, quietly i was hoping for a warnock for bower trade  and then i realised i probably had to take my head out of my arse and realise it would never happen.... extremely loyal is Paul, and the blues would never have parted with him.

I dont know how you guys see it, but i have always seen paul as a Joel Bowden type (that isnt a knock by the way :D) has a good mark, great skills, and can turn defence into attack very quickly.... he is a quality bloke too
