When will the Carlton FC Arrive? Part 2

Was Teague really this bad that they just HAD to get rid of him without a guarantee that Lyon/Clarkson would take up the position? He wasn't a Neeld results wise and there was reportedly plenty of good players at that club that liked him - as for the ones that didn't maybe they should realize that they have been the problem, not the five coaches they've gone through in nine years.

Have never said that he has a requirement to comment. Simply that the speculation will continue when new developments arise, especially if his camp stays silent. He might be happy for the speculation to continue and doesn't care what the media or anyone else says. That's fine, but it won't stop the talk.

Saying no to a non-existent job is lovely, but it's like me saying that I don't want to be Prime Minister. Even if 100% true, it rings hollow if the seat is filled and I haven't been offered the role. It's also lovely that he says he wants to travel next year. Who knows what will happen in 4 months time? Maybe he'll get his chance to do that, but in the current world climate, you can't blame people for thinking that's just a ruse to throw people off the scent.

Anyway, sounds like it might be a moot point now, with one of our board posters claiming that he has knocked back our last attempt.
Maybe he was genuine on taking the year off. Maybe he was genuinely interested but wanted to consider everything, including the changing landscape at Ikon Park, without the intense media scrutiny.

There is one major reason Clarko will have if he says no … it’s making sure Jeff Kennett has to sign a big, fat, $800,000 cheque to him for doing nothing next season. If he takes a coaching job, the Hawks are off the hook. Sounds silly, but the way Kennett treated him at the end would have riled Clarko up no end…. he won’t let Kennett escape an $800,000 payday.

Yeah, that and also the fact he has zero interest in coaching Carlton.

Is Voss really that bad of an appointment? I reckon he'll go well this time. Great to see someone of his calibre get a second chance if he is appointed.

Crrrrazy Vossy 2.0!!!!

Everyone coming out of contract 26 or older, and middle-of-the-road or worse, just got their footy lifeline

Still a better appointment than Ross The Boss or Brad Scott because at least Carlton will be collecting the wooden spoon in 2023/24 and getting ready for another rebuild rather than simply drifting to the middle of the ladder.

Would hope not. Creates a boys club, safety net, type culture.
So not real important that the coaching staff can actually work together?

An important element of a coaching selection process is providing the autonomy to build their own coaching team.

How do you know the coaches you're hiring now have the skills and background to complement the incoming Head Coach?

I thought their ITKs were never wrong and definitely not making things up?
Can't go against the ITK's on the Carlton board. It's a like mutual masturbation session when one of them posts.
