You have to factor in the returns you also got for trading out some of those players such as Boyd, Treloar, Tyson, Adams etc
At what point do you stop though? That’s my question.
This year we got Sam Taylor at pick 28. We got pick 28 when we traded Matthew Kennedy. We got Matthew Kennedy because we traded Tom Bugg & Curley Hampton, who we got in the start up.
Sam Taylor was 11 when our club was founded. When/if we trade Sam Taylor in, say, 5 years time for a draftee who was 5 or 6 when our club came into being with all these concessions, he too will only be there because of our start up concessions.
By your measure there will come a day when the parents of a draftee weren’t even born when our club received these concessions- who will have to be counted as being there because of the concessions - and therefore any premiership won in 50 years time will still not be legitimate.
Oh, and Boyd was got because of ladder position, and only because of ladder position. But by all means count him too if it helps your dodgy bulls#*t narrative.
