Depends if a game plan is supposed to be regarded as set and forget, or an iterative process that requires constant development and adjustment between and within seasons I guess.
Truck got fried for it.

Would be happy if the first part was true, as I have said if Hird had done some time even a short assistants role elsewhere under a hardwick, Longmure or the like I would be kinda open to the idea of him coaching. Just hasn't done enough. he could be a very good coach just would like to see a little more of an apprentaship and just how interested he is in going through the ranks when its not an Essendon job on the go.

Just got back from holidays apparently. It’s pretty much up to the panel I guess but yeah, if they’re already in love with Yze it’s a bit of a hard sell for Cara

I'd say having the best player/assistant coach CV record in the league gives him some leeway in this regard.
He could even say, the two game he coached us when Rutten was absent, we won!!

Hird should have thought of that before Hardwick hired Rutten again, haha..

Lol.

To be fair to Hird on this hes has only just returned to the game and probably couldn't any sooner than he had. I can see him more in a board/CEO role at some point. I tend to feel like he is too happy in his business role to commit to going through te coaching ranks. His Howie interview kinda gave that indication too loves footy but his mind seems in coaching and can he give up his business again?

I think Hird is a guy that can sell a message think that big part of what is needed. Just need to see more in how commited he is.

Or perhaps some are prepared to consider he has been punished enough and are happy to give him another chance.
But will harshly judge Yze for something he hasn't even been shown to be involved in. Golden boy gets special treatment. Precisely my point entirely.

Oh yeh!
Blake C and his achievements:
Has to be the best apprenticeship ever served in the league, i mean it's year after year in finals from 1998 onwards, if nothing else, i hope some day he writes a book...
Thus, has to be seriously considered.

I will say, bit rich for the club to ask Hird to interview for the job, only to tell him, “lol, go be an assistant first”

I just watched a few interviews Yze has done this year and I can't say I am overly impressed. I don't feel he is an upgrade on Rutten.
I don't reckon you can get much of an idea of someone's personality or ability from press conferences that they're contractually obligated to appear at.
This episode of Melbourne's in house podcast gives you a bit of a better idea what he's like: my takeaways are that he's studious, competitive, a family man, humble and sees the role of coach as that of a teacher. Also says he was a mad Essendon fan as a kid.

Strange that he was invited to participate and then told to get the experience he clearly didn't have (if the belief is that he still needs to do an apprenticeship).

Is this what Caro said or is it your paraphrasing?

I guess that could have come after feedback from the panel, others may have had a more complete presentation that was evident after an interview especial with the full panel.
