Don't quite understand Caracella. He'd have a senior gig by now if he wanted one given his impecable resume. From all reports he has either never wanted the top job or never applied for one. I thought he was content on being an assistant but maybe there is more to it...
Never wanted one. Something seemed to change around the middle of this year, when it was reported he's now interested in doing the senior role.

Has never been an assistant under a non-caretaker coach, has never had the opportunity to observe how a non-caretaker coach operates, has never been part of a successful system as a coach.
When you've been a coach for 4 years, won premierships, a Brownlow and lots of things, you have the right to tell the others to go **** themselves.

So cushy being an assistant. Cracking money, great lifestyle, minimal pressure. About time he went for a top job. Have a crack mate.

Adem Yze is your man and he will be a terrific and astute appointment for your football club.

Forget about his so called links to the racist/bigoted links to Clarkson at Klansthorn, he is a Muslim and a person of great integrity who would never condone or take part in the alleged toxic and inhumane events at Hawthorn.

Very happy with Vossy, but Yze was my first choice to replace Teague at Carlton.

Despite your ham fisted approach to Rutten's dismissal, it seems like you have done due diligence on this crucial coaching appointment.

Telling Hird to go out and get an apprenticeship feels like the panel actually doing some good.

No doubt he’s only in this race because Sheedy wants him in it but that’s been tempered by the filtering process we’ve put in place, and so it should.

Yze Albanian too, so always good to chalk one up for the brotherhood as well.

“I’d love to get the job,” Hird said.

“I know there’s been a lot of speculation around whether I’ve done the time or I’ve done the work, but I’m passionate about the club.

“I’ve spent a lot of the last 12 months working in football and basically dedicating myself back to the game, back coaching, back watching the job, back training, spending time overseas with some of the greatest coaches in the world.

“So if I get the opportunity, it would be amazing. Redemption is a big thing, but for me I just love the Essendon Football Club, it’s been part of my life forever and I think I can make it better.”

Essendon sources have told The Age that Hird and Solomon could come as a package deal, with one likely to join as an assistant if the other is hired as senior coach.

Hird said the coaching panel asked him to address four issues; why he is interested, what his vision for the club is, his plan to achieve that and his view on Essendon’s list.

“For me, to be 100% honest, it was just great to do the interview. Maybe it was closure, but if I do get the job or I don’t get the job, then that’s a full stop on a saga that’s been pretty ordinary for all of us.”

“Because I actually really like coaching and I think I’m actually not bad at it. I know that’s egotistical to say that,” Hird said.

“The Essendon Football Club to me, I grew up with it, my grandfather, my father, it was part of who I was and I’ve left it in a place that is unfinished and I genuinely think I can make it better.

“Courage in life is actually having a go at things, no matter if you get them or you don’t. And people are going to knock you down and people are going to smack you but if you don’t have courage in life, what do you have?

“If I don’t get (the job), they’ll laugh at me. But I’d rather have a go than die wondering.”

As of yesterday they’re saying the club has contacted him but we don’t know if he’s decided to put his hat in the ring, that’ll come after the grand final if at all.
I reckon Yze has gotten through the process as lead candidate and if Scott wants in they will give him an interview.

If they want to announce by end of next week then I hope he has his presentation pre-prepared because it will be a tight turnaround. I get the feeling it will be Yze somewhat early in the week so we have a chance at the Bedford/Bowes/Bytel/Clark targets we are supposedly into.
