Even a worse strategy not respecting the draft.Cripps was pick 13 in 2013. Jack Billings was pick 3! Pies had 2 top ten picks ...both busts.
It's a lottery.
Foolish strategy.

Paddy Dow was a better hit than Nathan FreemanPaddy Dow says hi.
Phuuc you carry on like "contending" is winning another trophy or something. It means shit. 16 flags each. Carry onAnd yet we've still won a flag and contended for 3 others since then, despite that bad draft decision.
Carlton meanwhile...
Well let's hope your pick 3 nets you a similar gem this time.Paddy Dow was a better hit than Nathan Freeman
Particularly when they need to improve the list right now, when their top end players are in their prime.Cripps was pick 13 in 2013. Jack Billings was pick 3! Pies had 2 top ten picks ...both busts.

Keep 'respecting the draft' and keep floating between low and mid table.Even a worse strategy not respecting the draft.

We've played finals last 2 years, building nicely.Keep 'respecting the draft' and keep floating between low and mid table.
Don't care . Contending to me is up there with the fadgelow. No prizes for any of it'Contending' means your club is a chance to win the premiership.
Of course it means nothing to Carlton supporters, they don't know what it means to 'contend'.
'The Finals Dynasty'.We've played finals last 2 years, building nicely.
Still above the Pies.who knows where they will be once Cripps, Weitering, McKay and Curnow start exiting...
Lets be honest, this year was less impressive than last for both our clubs. In fact aside from Sydney (who had a "charmed" run) most sides got worse. We've played finals last 2 years, building nicely.
Spot on mate.Lets be honest, this year was less impressive than last for both our clubs. In fact aside from Sydney (who had a "charmed" run) most sides got worse.
Be a lot harder to make the 8 in 2025, we both better have our porridge.
Do you find it interesting that the only times in recent years that Carlton have finished above the Pies on the ladder is when Collingwood have grossly underachieved?Still above the Pies.
With half your best 22 looking through nursing home brochures you better get used to underachieving.Do you find it interesting that the only times in recent years that Carlton have finished above the Pies on the ladder is when Collingwood have grossly underachieved?
2021 - Pies finish 17th after a semi-final loss in 2020 and before a Preliminary Final loss in 2022.
2024 - Pies finish 9th the year after winning a flag and starting the season as premiership favourites.
The equation is pretty simple - we know Carlton will be mid table at best. If the Pies perform to their potential, we finish above Carlton. If we perform poorly, it's a raffle.
All of Carltons stars are going to be in decline soon... But the Pies retirement village all have plenty of time left they reckon despite being 6-7 years older than most of Carltons stars... Make it make senseWith half your best 22 looking through nursing home brochures you better get used to underachieving.
We're just arguing that the position on the ladder is superiority, if Pies could beat Essendon which Carlton did they would be superior but they couldn't.i think if Carlton can take the next big step - actually BEAT Collingwood, this matter could be settled. Arguing superiority when almost everytime they play them they lose is slightly deranged isnt it?
Hasn't he told us yet?after all these pages we still haven't read why carlton fans shouldn't be excited for cody walker
Carlton have never grossly underachieved have they. It's just Collingwood .Do you find it interesting that the only times in recent years that Carlton have finished above the Pies on the ladder is when Collingwood have grossly underachieved?
Pies could beat Richmond and North though. We're just arguing that the position on the ladder is superiority, if Pies could beat Essendon which Carlton did they would be superior but they couldn't.
Just more excuses, oh boy.Pies could beat Richmond and North though.
Unfortunately we weren't given the opportunity to beat both teams twice...
Barely...Pies could beat Richmond and North though.
Unfortunately we weren't given the opportunity to beat both teams twice...
well clearly it would be pretty silly for us to claim superioty to Essendon after a loss and a draw. some things are obvious - to most people. We're just arguing that the position on the ladder is superiority, if Pies could beat Essendon which Carlton did they would be superior but they couldn't.
