It's fine to make a passing comment, but when indulged in too much all you get is floods of excuses and then counter excuses, going back to whichever game suits a given supporter's preconceived narrative of injustice. The same happens with injuries. You can hardly call that banter - it's more like who can have the biggest sook.

I agree but I will say the current level of the umpires is a real issue and makes things worse. It's so bad that it's almost put the game into disrepute. We don't watch and love footy to talk about umpires and MRO but it's becoming bigger and bigger talking points in all the wrong ways.
