It was clear we couldn’t afford him, I’m not sure what everyone wanted us to do? Cheat the cap?
That wasn't the narrative Bagger fans originally went with.

They didn't need a skilled outside runner to launch attacks off HB was the claim.

it's a bit from both columns imo.

salary cap is clearly super tight. could we have worked out a way to afford him? yeah maybe, if we made some bold trades (which i wasnt against).

however, a hbf isn't/wasn't our priority - a small fwd and 2nd kpd is, any footy fan with half a brain who watches us regularly knows this.

if a player of houstons calibre was on the market - but played as a small fwd/kpd, i think we would've made the necessary moves to land them.

maybe it was a mistake, and if we traded someone like mckay or cerra and steak knives we could've got him, but i guess the club backed itself to be better, or have similar output without having to do that.

we wouldn't be much better with him anyway, the game plan, or the players strategy to execute it is just terrible.

How the **** is the cap tight?

Horrible list management if that is the case.

It should be, Doc, Saad, Hollands is a poor group of rebounding half back flankers.

A dual all Australian in their prime supposedly wants to come to your club, but you decide you don't need him...

Players gave good effort last night, but you need someone who can break and line and has good disposal...

Yep.

You guys have the joy of watching Daicos for another dozen years dominate the competition in a team that regularly contends for the premiership, whilst I have the joy of watching Carlton bumble along, making mistake after mistake and flipping between the bottom four and finals contention, without ever genuinely contending for a premiership.

Glorious.

i like daicos, but my team sucks.

you get to enjoy all that, but you still have to wake up every day being you lol.

i'd rather my situation tbh.

You think pies are a genuine contender this year?
