Then my non Australian wife who has NFI about AFL was coming in now and then and making comments like " what's wrong with that team. They can't score" . "Why is their score still 0? I go away for 20 minutes and they are still 0?"

Your adopted team have won just over 50% of their games each year for the past 3 years, and have been completely outclassed in their most recent final.
I therefore rate Carlton as a mid table team.
What do you base your rating on? Let me guess... their last halves in games against Brisbane in 2024?

When finals start the ladder becomes irrelevant but if you can't even make finals you can't claim to be better than a team that did.
Essentially, the ladder tells you who the best eight teams were but finals orders those eight teams.
We can, we will, and we are.
Collingwood were better than Carlton in 2024.
Suck it up, and stop deluding yourself.
Brisbane showed in the first half of the Elimination Final that Carlton had no right being there, and had only qualified courtesy of their double up games against Richmond and North Melbourne.
Anyone with an iota of intelligence is aware of that.

If Carlton were a powerhouse, they'd have the same number of games at the MCG as us.
That's what happens when teams play Collingwood and want to maximise their revenue.
But you're deflecting.
In a season where 7% separated 8th and 9th on the same number of premiership points, what impact would the 8th placed team having played the two teams that managed 5 wins between have had?

Not deflecting at all - we are just different. If we missed finals and Pies made it I put my hate for Collingwood aside and admit they were better. The whole point of the H+A season is to qualify for finals.
Fixturing, umpiring, weather etc are all swings and roundabouts - if you are good enough you still finish above teams you are truly better than after a 6 month season.
Poor Bagger fans really battle with the ladder.
The ladder really should be a pretty simple concept. It orders teams based on points earnt from H&A fixture.
But as not all H&A fixtures are equal, it is a flawed approach to then jump to a higher ladder position = who is better. Especially when two teams have the same points.
Ive no idea what you cooking here, i dont give a hoot about agreement. Ive only stated facts if that is a reference to me.
