Not deflecting at all - we are just different. If we missed finals and Pies made it I put my hate for Collingwood aside and admit they were better. The whole point of the H+A season is to qualify for finals.

Fixturing, umpiring, weather etc are all swings and roundabouts - if you are good enough you still finish above teams you are truly better than after a 6 month season.

No I have been consistent all season finals finishes separates the top 8. So Brisbane > Sydney > GWS

Poor Bagger fans really battle with the ladder.

The ladder really should be a pretty simple concept. It orders teams based on points earnt from H&A fixture.

But as not all H&A fixtures are equal, it is a flawed approach to then jump to a higher ladder position = who is better. Especially when two teams have the same points.

Otherwise, they'd just award the premiership to the team that finishes top after home and away.

Yep. Everything's relative. What for us would be an embarrassing humiliation is to Carlton fans an event worthy of celebration. It all depends on how you've been conditioned over the years and what your lived experiences are.

Yeah, I know I'm exceptional with my predictions, but I'm not sure many would have predicted North and Richmond would win 5 games between them for the season.

That's why one needs to analyse draw difficulty at the end of a season, in the same way as we wait until the end of the season to determine who genuinely contended for the premiership.
