They're all over the place mate, makey makey uppy uppy.
I just think people should ease off on them for a while - next thing you know they will be talking about contending from outside the eight and how their famous victory over Norths was the highlight of their year.

Membrey and e have a problem Houston LOL

Imagine paying big bucks to a player who doesn't even want to be playing at yru Club - similar to paying big bucks for players - playing at opther Clubs ...
Imagine regularly contending for premierships whilst doing so?

But Carlton are the beacon of list management - content with perennially being lower to mid table, with promises of what is going to happen in 2 to 4 years...

But that would be the only reason you wouldn't bring in Houston.

Having Curnow and McKay is a fair reason not to go shopping for a Larkey or JUH, but having the four players you mention is no reason not to bring in Houston.
They want one of the top 4 midfielders, plain as day.

Collingwood is the lower to mid table team and that's a fact.

Im not buying the 'contending' hypothesis - it is a poor response to having to wear the fact that your Club is in it for the 'participation awards' and the average of once every two decades fluky flag - as is factually evident since before you were born.

Of course you're not buying into the 'contending hypothesis', because as a Carlton supporter you've forgotten (or possibly never actually seen first hand) what it means to contend.

I thought this thread was about 2025?

Fact?
Are we going to stay at 2025 or will you go back to the last 2 decades when it suits you?

I thought Williams was now your answer in the forward line?

Newman is 32.

Saad is falling off a cliff.

Docherty is 30 something coming off a third knee reconstruction.

But no, Houston wouldn't be an important player for the next 5 years for Carlton, and particularly the next couple of years whilst your top 6 are in their absolute prime...
I'd rather the top 3 pick thanks. Half backs are not our biggest issue atm

But good to know Carltons half backers are all a concern due to aging yet Collingwood with the oldest list in the comp will have no issues? 😂

Who is that going to be?
All of the players at the top of this draft are POD mids. Then we get back Cerra and get more midfield minutes into E.Hollands and our midfield is far more balanced. We were the number 1 stoppage team in the comp in 23' with a fit Cerra. He is imo key to that midfield functioning optimally due to his spread from the stoppage and his two-way running. E.Hollands is a bonus on top of that 23' mid with his spread, great ball-use and ability to go forward and kick a goal.

Very happy with a core midfield of Cripps, Hewett, Walsh, Cerra, E.Hollands, Docherty/Lord + Pick 3. Nice balance of inside and outside players, has players that can kick goals, run both ways, tackle and delay opposition exit from stoppage, has players with a bit of pace/spread and has players that can deliver the ball inside 50.

What would Kennedy be adding to that group that isn't already there?

Go back to the commentary at the time.

We as Collingwood supporters know only too well that the key to success is to build the best list you possibly can, every single year.
This isn't a fantasy game. Every move needs to be considered and fit in with the list strategy. It is not sustainable to just be recruiting players every year and neglecting the draft. We have done a heavy block of recruitment the last few years and now had the opportunity to get a top pick in a good draft. A HB is not moving the needle enough to justify the assets we would have needed to give up.

Injuries to other small forwards …. Orazio Fantasialand , Martin … lookout. 🤣
Martin isn't a small forward and Fantasia was playing the Cottrell role after he got injured so not as a small forward. I was talking about Fogarty/Motlop who both missed significant time this season and I would have both (with Williams) ahead of Owies in 2025 for that small forward role.

of course you will settle for the false glitter of "participation awards" - I feel sorry for the kidgoat having to go to the gym and watch all the saggy skinned geriatrics around him...hopefully they dont forget to wear their sombreros like you have and good luck replacing Pendelbury and Sidebottom with a batch of developed trades because Collingwood is a destination Club...LOL youve had to pay massive overs for a HBF who doesnt evn want to be there...

Shortest pre season in history apparently. Didn't seem to bother Brisbane funnily enough
It did actually.

You might have noticed they were 2 and 5 at one stage of the season.

Couldn't do enough to finish top 4, but played a magnificent finals series to win the flag.

Credit to them, they've been knocking on the door for a few years now. Illustrative of how difficult it is to win a flag.
