If that makes you feel better SOY, embrace it

I couldn't give a stuff about finishing positions, we are both on 16 flags and now in 2025

If you and any other Pie supporter want to reference the past, others will likely entertain it

Hopefully, without questioning someone's level of intelligence, especially if they have a delusional posting history (not directed at you of course)

And this is why I rate you as the most intelligent Carlton supporter in this thread. Nothing really matters in football except Premierships. Win the big one it matters. The rest of the positions mean nothing.

All you guys talk about is the past :tearsofjoy: it is all you have

The glorious 70s and early 80s of course! We'd just gotten rid of Gough Whitlam around then and colour TV had just come in. Very recent history to many Blues supporters

All we talk about is the past?

But now that we are here, you do realise we have won more flags since the inception of colour TV in Australia, right?

?? Who wrote that?

Your logic seems to be that Port were the 2nd best team because they finished 2nd on the H&A ladder.

The reality is Port got a soft H&A fixture that enabled them to finish 2nd on the H&A ladder. They were then shown up in finals by a "weaker" team.

Unlike the 1960s, the H&A ladder doesn't effectively rank who is better anymore as teams have different fixtures.
Ha ha ha it's getting funny now

Yep Carlton were gifted a top VFL country zone by former Carlton president Sir Kenneth. They unsurprisingly had a 20 year glory period from - 1968 to 1987. Once they had to compete without an advantage they have been the worst team in the AFL.

Melbourne had a dominant 25 year glory period in the that ended with the 1964 flag, tis ancient history now. When they were 30odd years into their 50+ year premiership drought, I wonder if crusty Dees were bragging about flags won in the 1940s whilst watching their team collect their 5th wooden spoon since their last flag?

Even Melbourne have a flag in the current century, unlike the uncompetitive Carlton.

You honestly think that we don't know that?

That's what I thought when Carlton fans claim that the AFL creates a new ladder so they could pretend that Carlton have had a top 4 finish in the 21st century!!
Do the top 4 teams of the season play in that seasons prelim or not? Just answer the question without any of your usual song and dance.

No the top 4 teams references the H&A ladder.

The top 4 teams on the H&A ladder get the reward of a finals double chance and play each other in the two QFs.

It is pretty simple

After you guys win quite a few more Grand Finals, otherwise it wouldn't be fair on the pastries.

Post modern powerhouse v a club who some archeologists believe won some titles in an 8 team league when Alexander the Great was at large.
If i didnt donate $10 to the pathetic Save Our Skins campaign back in the 90s your club would be extinct. It was a pity donation to the paupers of the AFL. Back in your box

Ok so you loved our club enough to donate the princely sum of $10. Well that figures, Richmond is a universally admired club after all, noble of deed and word.

I am however not entirely convinced that particular $10 saved Richmond from extinction. Remotely possible I guess. 😵

lol without any support from opposition clubs supporters you would not exist. You should be humble to us to have the success you had albeit brief, and given your recruiting it will be a very long time before you are competitive again

Jeez can't ever recall seeing anyone who wanted more mileage than you out of a lousy $10.

Brief success? Is that what you call us winning 50% more Grand Finals in 4 years than your club has won in 66 years?
People who wanted the Tigers to survive gave money. But in your case it seems you didn't want Richmond to thrive. So why did you give the money? 2017-20 must have burned you bad Heefy. Or maybe you are claiming to have given money you never gave.

You should be incredibly grateful to have supported at least one club who knows how to win Grand Finals. Albeit with just $10. Richmond has paid you back at $3.33 per Grand Final victory. That is pretty good value Heefy.
