Why do you hate Collingwood?
The All Blacks are the most successful sporting institution on the face of the planet. Perhaps only the Brazilian soccer team could rival them in terms of world sport.

We're are talking about a team that has been the best at what it does for nearly every year of its existence. On an international stage. From a country with less people that Melbourne.

hahha, yeah, nice example of why you're hated.

What relevance would any of that success have on me, a South Australian Port supporter as to why I hate Collingwood?

Essendon, Carlton, Hawthorn even Richmond have all been more successful in the modern era than Collingwood, yet we constantly hear how good you are! WTF!
haha well said Bro:D

We have the greatest win rate of all time bar none and won the most games of any club

http://afl.allthestats.com/statistics/alltime.php

Classic Collingwood supporter line - and you're proven everyone's argument of why we hate Collingwood, ie. "we're the best blah blah blah," and you're not

So you've won the greatest number of games? Wow! You've also only won one premiership in 50 years.

It doesn't seem to occur to the Pie supporter that winning premierships is more important. It seems to Pie supporters that "you have it over" every other club even though you don't win the ones that matter

Geez, now I'm getting frustrated

The All Blacks would swap all their victories against Australia for more World Cup victories. South Africa & Australia are both more successful Rugby nations than New Zealand given their WC Success (they have won 4 b/w them).
They would? Not sure when you were appointed as the new All Blacks representative.

Personally, I would trade all of the Bledisloes and Tri Nations since 1987 for one, sure, but before that the WC was obviously irrelevant.

There is no way on earth I would trade any of that pre 1987 success for what is, essentially, a modern era tournament.

Sadly for others, Collingwood's history didn't start in 1958.
This is the difference though, as you Victorians keep reminding us Port fans, the competition you are competing in hasn’t changed or had things added to it - other than meaningless pre-season cups and more teams.

Yet you have continually failed to win it! Which is fine, it’s a tough gig, and there is no doubt Collingwood have a wonderful tradition and history, but don't go sprouting that you’re the best and most successful when you're clearly not!

It's the belief by its supporters that because they are the most popular side going around, then they are the best.

Then they cite premierships from before most on the board were born, but the fact is that they have only one a single flag in the past 50 years, making them just about the least successful.

Nope.. they are not called the most famous football club in Australia as we are

You are right, I think the pies maybe the most famous football club name in Australia and few would disagree with you on that.

But that does not change the fact and its not in dispute that the Adelaide Crows and the West Coast Eagles are the biggest, richest, most supported clubs in the country be that membership or just who do you support. They are the big 2 and the rest start a fair bit down the line

The Eagles and Crows do have an advantage that at least half of their state supports them.

The Pies are famous and should be proud that they are, I think thats great, but you are not the biggest and never ever will be in the top 2 again. Full stop

Like I said if we had won our premierships nice and evenly spaced out every 8 years we'd still have 14 flags.. and we'd still have won more games than anyone else and still have headed the premiership table longer than anyone else and we'd still be the most famous club in Australia.. doesn't matter when you win em.. just that you win em

The classic "aw but" Pie supporters excuse.

So you're saying that your greatness is based on a hypothetical?

... Interesting

That's fine but I wouldn't really call them supporters like ours.. they are just supporting the state, not a football team

Mate I am not disagreeing with you, the facts are the facts though. Like you said you have won this and won that, whether its yesterday or 100 years ago it doesn't change the facts.

I was just pointing out to you that the Crows and The Eagles are the two biggest clubs in the country, which I think now you agree on.

Mate the Eagles have a million supporters just in WA.

& 14% of the MCC Membership base of 199 K are nominated Collingwood supporters who aren't counted as Collingwood members (only Melbourne has more, Essendon the same). Collingwood leads the way in the AFL Membership stakes as well.

West Coast don't face these alternatives (as well as Perth having few alternatives than football).

Watching the last quarter of the Carlton/Brisbane final I questioned the hypothetical about Carlton supporters poking fun at others for choking in September.:thumbsu:

Really? I kinda think that 16 premiership cups begs the contrary. . .

In reality, you're comparing one finals choke to over a half a century of collingwood's "almost won".

Honestly mate, there's a reason you get called 'Colliwobbles'.

Thats my point Panther, you don't have to be a member to be a supporter.

I was not knocking you or your club, just telling you that you are the third biggest club in the country. Clearly the biggest in Victoria.
