Opinion Why the Adams Bashing?

Sure he has a crack but his disposal is bloody woeful- terrible, terrible kick.
He has some mates too- Toovey, Frost and Lumumba

Frost = Human Turnover Machine

Play him as an inside mid & not as a defender. Let him feed the ball out to the likes of Pendles & Beams by hand. Work on his kicking in the mean time.

Spot On - That is at his best and Dumbass Bucks plays him in the Worst Postion Possible

Agree. He is at his best in the Packs getting the Ball out to Pendles and not down on the Half Back Line:rolleyes:

but at least he has a crack.....oh wait

at least you're consistently inconsistent with your assessments of players and their abilities.

Yes he does have a Good Old Crack and is a Great Defender but you worry when he has Ball in Hand

I'd honestly rather Fasolo in the middle instead of Adams, he seems to be relatively clean in close and he has a great kick on him, I think that's what they plan for him but I reckon they want to improve his tank a bit more. I just don't think Adams was worth trading Heath Shaw for, couldn't we have tried to get someone else from that list? From the start it seemed to be Adams or bust, why not try trading Heath Shaw plus pick 10 for pick 2? I just do not rate the kid.

So you think our Player Elevators who looks at these Kids have no Idea?

This is what we're talking about Dave. At no point did he say that our recruiters have no idea. He's said that he wasn't worth Shaw in trade value in his opinion. Please stop paraphrasing peoples' posts in a ridiculously exaggerated and often completely inaccurate fashion.

If we have Elevators who are talent spotters then I think we have a real problem :p
Seriously though I don't think they have no idea, but it seems strange to me that in the 2012 National Draft we choose Kennedy, Broomhead and Ramsay (Grundy was a no brainer slipping that low) who have relatively decent skills, then in the 2013 National Draft we choose Scharenberg, Freeman and Langdon (Marsh a late pick because he slid and we probably wouldn't have gotten him with a rookie pick) who all have good skills. Our game plan is based around good skills and precise ball movement yet we go for a kid who's kicking skills are suspect and decision making skills are definitely questionable, my question is:
Is this the best player that we could have gotten for Heath Shaw?
I for one seriously doubt that he is.

Frost = Human Turnover Machine
Knows his limitations, i only witnessed one noticeable poor disposal from Frost, it was when he ran like 30 metres without bouncing and he bombed straight to the Essendon player. Other than that most games he will either bomb it long to a contest or chip it to a better kicking teamate. Frost would be in our best today.

Taylor Adams actually had a good disposal effiency of 75%, but the thing was that the rest of the 25% was very noticeable, needs to tidy up that part and we will be cheering, the thing is though that even if he does tidy his disposal up he will always have that bad disposal tag from everyone.

What we are getting out of him is someone that can win the ball, but burns it by hand and foot that Victoria Police, MFB, and CFA have placed him on the summer watch List for intentionally starting bush fires.

Had to like it for this alone, fantastic.

I was a fan of him coming to the club, we need a player who's good on the inside as Luke Ball won't go on forever, Swan is a real worry on current form...

His disposal has been very shaky by foot all year and - although I was pretty jaundiced by our performance in general - even missed targets by hand today.

Whether fairly or not, he has come to embody our poor disposal efficiency as a team, which will remain the case until he improves his own disposal.

Still hope he will be a player for us, and I think he does at least have a real crack and works hard defensively, he's not a half-hearted alibi chaser.

I've gotta agree, he makes some poor mistakes at this stage but gee at least he has a crack and his effort and intensity is always up. He's just not a HBF'er, which he's getting forced to play due to our injury list which highlights his poor foot skills.
Danny Stanley was played at half back despite being a center specialist. I thought Stanley's disposal was one of the black marks against him, but compared to Adams, he is a superior kick. Why did we delist him but pick up Adams? And why is Ball still playing in the center when he provides less drive with each passing game?

Perfect example of HORRENDOUS coaching mixed with a player terribly low on confidence.

Playing Adams off the back-flank is mind boggling. His skillset clearly doesn't suit the position

As others have said, he plays one position only - inside mid. That's a potential problem in itself, given the modern game encourages flexibility, but Taylor's got plenty of time on his side to maybe add another string to his bow forward of the centre...

But for right now, play him as an inside mid, either in the AFL or the VFL. If it's the AFL, then you have to drop one of Ball or Thomas to make room for him. And seeing as Thomas offers a nice point of difference to Adams (namely speed), that means pensioning off Bally. Personally, I'd send Taylor back to the VFL for a couple of weeks to work some more on his kicking while at the same time playing in his natural habitat, the inside of a pack...

Adams is being treated unfairly. I swear to god people just wait for him to make a mistake so they can bag him out. I for one do not agree with bagging out the younger players. I don't think our problem lies with Adams. Our problem lies with pathetic decisions regarding in's and out's mainly the fact that senior players are not held accountable.
Keefe plays one bad game and it's bye bye. I wonder if Cloke will be dropped for his dismal effort today. Or will Goldsack get dropped for having one lousy kick in a full game of football. Will Blair Young or Ball be held to account.
Adams has some problems with his disposal but at least he is giving his all for the team. I would prefer watching a team full of guys that give 100% and lose than the crap that is being dished up by our current team.

So what your saying is Hine should be sacked and Adams traded for Stanley?

I've mostly had good back but yesterday was his worst yet.
The third quarter I think it was when he was running along the wing with no pressure what so ever and kicked it out on the full almost ten metres away from Cloke.

Because he's the epitome of our problem.

He was brought in under the recommendation from our coach, costing us a favourite son, premiership player and very good (if a quite left of centre) half back.

What we are getting out of him is someone that can win the ball, but burns it by hand and foot that Victoria Police, MFB, and CFA have placed him on the summer watch List for intentionally starting bush fires.

On the others we know what we will get from each one, none of them cost the club a lot to bring in, 5 of the, are premiership players, one is an out form and injured brownlow medallist and the only reason they aren't copping heat in your opinion, is because you are ignoring it to prove a point.

I don't think he cost us Heater, I think his papers were stamped and Adams was what we could get for him. The kid will be a good player, you can see his attributes he does need to tidy up his disposal though.

Last time I looked it wasn't the Adams FC. He bloody plays were it suits the team. Unfairly treated!! he is lucky to be getting a game.

As for younger players / older players why does it have to be one or the other. Every time someone says a kid plays poorly someone else brings up a senior player. Who cares if you are a kid or a senior player- if you can't kick you can't play. Our issue is that our injuries are not allowing us that opportunity at present.

Dave does make a good point. I know he is the new guy, but there are plenty of players butchering the ball at the moment. He seems to cop a lot of heat for it compared to others around here.

He is spending time at half back because that's what Bucks did in his development, so to Swan. In fact many coaches like to start young mids there for development purposes. The problem is he really seems like he would just be a lot better on the inside in the middle. I suspect Bucks is finding it hard to take Ball or JT out of there even though they haven't played that well this season.
