Review Winners? Losers?

Fremantle couldnt have done much better but what the Saints done was take full advantage of the Hawks and I always love that, they are my winners!

The Eagles done very well as did GWS!

Adelaide are the biggest losers but not through their own doings. They could have sold their soul for Gibbs but they had a plan and stuck to it, so kudos to them for that at least!

Tuohy saved The Cats from getting a big F!

Carlton traded in Rhys Palmer, WTF?

Their first pick in the draft is 88.
As long as they keep bringing in big names from other clubs without paying each & every one of them as they are Titch, JOM & Vickery, they'll be ok.
Fyfe seems to be the name everyone is saying will be the Hawk's next free agent but he will command at least $1M per year.
But he'll play for just 500k just to be at Hawthorn!

Saints got a bargain only on the back of Cochrane playing shenanigans....That should be obvious.

This was his petty, act-out revenge for losing Jaeger.

A clue to why that club's in the mess that it's in.

I like how bringing in two 22/23 year olds. Trading out a 34 and 30 year old for pick 14 and next yeara late round first is co.primising our ability to bring in youth. Just say " I think T Mitx os over-rated and Omeara i recko his knee is shot" dont just lie

Lewis and Mitchell got you pick 14?

Lol

Happy with what freo did.

Melbourne got some solid talent this trade period, the saints did traded well and West Coast got some real value.

Really not sure what Geelong or Hawthorn are thinking but i dare say there is a plan for a greater prize in the future.

So what, The Saints did what they did for their own club and should be commended!

The Hawks paid too much for JOM!

Gold Coast actually isn't in a mess though.

Well a big loser is Bryce Gibbs.

Collinwood had a pretty terrible trade period (and that is coming from somebody who is glass half full)

I love my team but we fluffed this one. Thankfully we have a great record at the draft table so this year needs to be a hit simply for what we missed out on during trade week.

It was part of the negotiation in getting Marchbank and Picket. GWS needed to clear salary cap space so we agreed to take on his contract and in return we get Marchbank and Picket for later picks.

Justin Reid is the loser, could be out of a job before the year is out IMO.

What do Carlton fans think was a fair price?

#13 and a second rounder in the 20s would have got the job done. We were chasing future 2nds to stop GWS going after 5 or 13. If we had done the Gibbs deal, 13 was gone to GWS. Something that gave us 2 shots to pick a 200 game player in a risky part of the draft.

Based on the final offer being something like 13 and a future 3rd, that would have potentially blown out to 13 and a pick in the 50s.

I thought 1st and future second was kosher, did Adelaide never offer that?

We did okay. Filled a couple of needs but would have liked some more live earlier picks in a strong draft.

I'd have to agree with the majority that Freo, Saints and Dees did very well. I also think Hawks will have done well if JOM can get back to where he was.

Losers, hard to say really. Adelaide fans probably not too happy that Gibbs didn't make his way over to SA.

Justin Reid on SEN afterwards, agreed that a first and second probably would have got it done, but we never went to them asking for that. He thought it was our job to negotiate down rather than his to negotiate up. When they asked him what his best offer was, he refused to give details.

The various reports have suggested the offers were 13 and Lyons, 13 and a future 3rd, and one report of 13, a future second with a future third going back with Gibbs. Given the future second would have been at the end of the second round and the future third towards the start that one was potentially a worse offer.
