You're right.

Knights words were "Brent Stanton is an elite midfielder"....

When it was said I nearly fell over.

It was said in the imediate couple of weeks following his appointment at the end of '07. A sad indightment on both his judgement of football talent and understanding of the modern game.

Oh, right, I didn't realise they were so old.

Can't say I agree with them one bit, either. Stanton was a squib up until 2008. He's a lot closer now (not there, obviously) than he was when those comments were made, but it's still a fairly large over-rating.

This from a guy who just bought a Brent Stanton jumper.

Why are you surprised by Knight's statement.

Many on this board claim that Stanton is elite !

Don't you dare say my name, either.

The superfluous use of the word "elite" makes me mad. so mad.

Agree that the word elite is thrown around with reckless abandon.

The only elite player on Essendon's list is Fletcher ( still going strong ), although Watson is not far away.

No other EFC player is within a bull's roar of Elite.

'I will give Ricky every opportunity to prove himself as a regular senior player, regardless of his poor form so far this season'.

The players have conducted a honesty session/heart-to-heart session and apologise to all the supporters.

I would still like to know who actually disagrees with the statement that Stanton is the best midfielder at Essendon. Clearly for the totality of games he is our best midfielder. Elite though no- but the best at the EFC.

Can't believe I forgot this:

"structures".

Sick to ****ing death of this word. By players especially, but also coaches, commentators etc.

Half of the players don't even use it correcltly, or just say "we stuck to our structures" without giving it any actual thought.

I'm hoping it disappears sooner rather than later.

Sorry to intrude. But, that is the most annoying word ever used in footy....'Sticking to our structures'.:thumbsdown:

Just on EFC site reading a new article about the team back at training and there it is... Hirdy saying 'we are on a journey'

Please coach...don't say it...no more journeys.

"I'm rich biatch! Thanks EFC for giving me pocket money while my investment in Armstrong Creek paid out. heeee ya later!"

"kharma's a bitch, Hirdy screwed my misses"

today peoples!! when's the press conference?
