Supercoach Round 3 SC Talk - Round 3 Trades ,//, AFL Fantasy Round 2 AF Talk - Round 3 AF Trades
It was at Allianz next to the SCG, half the size of Homebush and it was basically an Indonesian home game. They couldn't even sell it out.Gone are the days that Homebush will have those atmospheres.
Just had Indonesia there. Not as packed
It's weird how Sydney struggles so much to pull good crowds in lots of different sports. It seems to be the one major city of Australia that's not crazy about sport or maybe just not as into events culture as other Australian cities. My understanding is they had a pretty poor crowd show up for the recent Kambosos boxing card in Sydney and that event was held on a Saturday night with several world title fights involving Aussie champions. Really strange considering Sydney is the most populated city in Aus.It was at Allianz next to the SCG, half the size of Homebush and it was basically an Indonesian home game. They couldn't even sell it out.
Tells you everything about Sydney crowds.
Having the best team in Asia come here is certainly a big help. Usually Perth was given the lower-middling sides. Iraq & Bangladesh. Kuwait was scheduled before COVID shut everything down. Palestine.I think it is a case of playing there so often the casual fans that would go if it was a once every couple of years event don't end up going. If it hadn't been so long since the Socceroos last played in Perth then I don't think the crowd would be as big as it is going to be.
I would say the bigger clubs their stars play for would want them to miss considering they have already qualified.Hopefully Japan take us lightly for the next game given they've already qualified lol.
The fourth round will be tricky if we don't qualify here. 2 groups of 3 teams with the top team of each qualifying. Likely to be involving UAE, Qatar, Iraq/Jordan, Oman, us & Indonesia.
1 game vs each team at one venue.
Wouldn't bet against it being in the middle east (i.e. Qatar).

We just need to be all guns blazing when they do.
It would be a hell of an effort, especially as they've only scored 4 goals through 6 games! That means Saudi would need a 5-0 victory to overturn the their GD deficit of 9 which obviously is highly unlikely.
The Socceroos are a little "off broadway" these days. The casual punters are quite as interested and there aren't many household names in big leagues.Bloody fantastic results, surprised there aren't more posts in here but I guess this is first and foremost a footy forum.
Beat Japan (who have nothing to play for) and we are just about guaranteed to be in.
This is what Miles was talking about having a plan. Hard to believe that the browns could have 100m of QB money on their books per year
Yeah it makes me wonder if a lot of Aussies just assumed we would go through with the additional spots and will just spark up once the Cup begins. The Socceroos are a little "off broadway" these days. The casual punters are quite as interested and there aren't many household names in big leagues.
100% agree about the results though, mind you beating Japan isn't something we do well.
Meant for the NFL forumRandom
