You've got to be joking. If 14 other clubs did want him you think they would have spoken to him. As far as I know only Adelaide and Sydney were the ones who were fair dinkum about it. I know for a fact West Coast didn't want to touch him with a 10 foot pole... and thankfully we didn't. You are talking about a has been who has 2 years left... and 2 ordinary years. Unless you win a flag this year or next BECAUSE of Carey then it will turn out to be one of the biggest draft flops in history.

The Crows will want a flag while Carey is at the club. He probably won't be half the player that he was, but he can still provide value. If they miss out on a flag while Carey is there they will probably regret the trade.

Think at this point in time all sides will be fairly happy with the trades, Adelaide needed a key position player, Tigers needed a tough midfielder, and North needed a quality kid that wouldn't hurt the budget.

Averaging less than 3 goals a game for a specialist FF is aparently a pretty **** poor effort!

All those players are either very good or are going to be very good OR 30-odd and looking very average.

Don't be fooled. Carey was very average against the Roos. Several lucky goals against a team lacking a big key backman.

Carey is a hack at the moment. An absolute hack. In a man-on-man wrestle he'll still kick a couple of goals and with your midfield any half decent forward would kick a few. Medhurst would kick 50 plus with your midfield supplying him. Doesn't mean that the Crows would give us what you gave up for Carey.

If you guys don't win the premiership, Carey retires, Wells/Brennan/Headland wins AA, Brownlow, and maybe a premiership anyway.

McPhee will be a honest battler and good luck to him. Brennan will be very good... as will Headland.
