I see him as champion but not the long reigning one. WWE is suited to a heel champion nowadays with quick wins for the face and then giving it back to the heel. Cody fits this purpose perfectly

I think it’s worked and I was surprised by the lack of blowback on him being the chosen one at Sami’s expense, but I 100% think if he wins here, the fans will fairly quickly turn on him and his schtick, just like they did in AEW.
