What are your reasons for picking weller mate?

A player priced at $200k that'll only miss two games isn't really a downgrade target. Given that he'll be back before the price change or the week after it's likely that he'll be more expensive than any other forward rookie at every stage throughout the year.

Well obviously. That's not what I meant. What I meant was that Bock returns before all the other rookies change price in round 3. So his price change is only ever two rounds behind everyone else's, which isn't long enough for him to be considered a downgrade target.

For a risky pick like hawkins caddy or any 300k risk hes the perfect downgrade if your risk flops

Yeah I guess but I'm never keen on having three sub $200k players in the same line! Might be something to consider, but I'll probably upgrade Hawkins to a Hale type if he does flop rather than downgrade.

Well Lobbe is on the way up. His tackle stats were phenomenal late last year is what I find most impressive. If he can repeat that form? Training reports from other Port players says he is a monster this pre-season.

Ryder - Mobile, and going solo for half the season (maybe more). With the interchange cap I can see him dominating the tap specialists who've crept into the game lately around the ground as games go into the 2nd half. If he goes 105-110 without Belly would you be surprised? I've had him pencilled in at 100 average from 18 games as best guess BEFORE Belly went down and he is entering his prime (my notes also said don't consider unless going solo)..... He also came off a 105 season only 2 years ago.

Yeah it's a risk and Sandi is probably too good to pass up when final lockout comes around (but weighed Sandi v Caddy as a midpricer - Caddy may be a keeper and not cost a trade - Sandi will definitely cost a trade).

Shit I've convinced myself now. Ryder and Lobbe locked all the way.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I think Naitanui might drop in price a bit early in the season as he gets over his injury troubles, and hopefully he's around the same price and starting to hit form when Bellchambers comes back, at which point I'll trade him in for Ryder.

Should probably trade Bock for Honeychurch or Impey, but then I'd have $100k I don't know what to do with. Hawkins > Hale? Ryder in the ruck makes me uncomfortable too. Might have gone too heavy in the midfield. Going to wait a few rounds before picking Dangerfield, I'm confident he'll drop substantially.

Absolutely nothing wrong with having 100K in the bank for any trades you might want to make in the first couple of weeks. In fact it's what I'm doing.

Although you should have Dangerfield in there somewhere. I'd downgrade Bock, then upgrade Rioli to Danger.

As I said in my post though, I'm taking a gamble on Dangerfield. Adelaide have a tough three rounds to open the season and Patty can be a bit of a slow starter (averages low 90s over the first four or five rounds for the last 2 years). Given how quiet he was in the NAB Cup game against Port last week I think he might start the season with a lower average again and potentially drop $50k to $100k before turning it on.

If he kills it against Carlton on Monday night I'll trade him in. If not I'll take a stupid risk haha.

I'm seriously thinking of downgrading Mitchell down to Hanley and Dangerfield to Martin to save cash in order to upgrade Mitchie M5 back to Dasiy Thomas.
