David Teague also won a best and fairest .
In 2012 and onwards we will be a much different and much better team than weve been in the last 2 years .
If we are to get to the next level and challenge for a flag we are going to have to be !!!
This means changes for the better , some will have to miss out .

I thought Aaron had a very ordinary year this year and was lucky not to get dropped. Lacks a hurt factor with the ball in his hand. Very one dimensional. At this stage can't see him in our starting line up. Still young and plenty of opportunity to develop.

Thought he had a great last few weeks though...did some great negating roles that we know he can do, but also tried to give us some run. This will be a telling year for him and he needs to work on his decision making and skills to get regular games in our side post 2011. Tuohy, ROK, Dare, Davies etc all want his spot

So why would a 21 year old who hasn't missed a game in two years and is still developing his game be the one who misses out. It's not going to be a team full of Lucas, Yarran, Murphy types. We're always going to need role players as well and he's proven plenty of times he's the man for that job. There's still plenty of things he needs to work on - overhead and decision making with the ball - but to write him off after showing as much as he has as a 21 year old is ludicrous.

Aaron Joseph is in our 22. His pace/run and his ability to shut down opponents fits our structure perfectly.

Round 1:

B: Bower - Jamison - Duigan
HB: Russell - Watson - Lucas

C: Gibbs - McLean - Simpson
R: Warnock - Judd - Murphy

HF: Yarran - Hendeson - Houlihan
F: Betts - Waite - Garlett

I/C From: Kruezer, Walker, Joseph, Carrazzo,
Collins, Laidler, Ellard, Robinson, White

I have seen Duigan play a fair bit of football and i feel that with his hardness, defensive skills and his ability to run and carry that he will hold down a back pocket.

If Carlton is to finish in the top 4 the following side needs to play.

B: Yarran Jamison Bower
HB: Laidler Watson Lucas
C: Simmo Gibbs Robinson
HF: Betts Hendo Waite
F: Garlett Kreuzer Collins

Foll Warnock, Murphy Gibbs

i:c walker, mclean, carazzo
sub: white

Yarran needs to improve and be running defender
Laidler and Watson given a go.
Robinson played more through midfield, booming kick
Kreuzer F Forward - dawes like
Collins fwd midfielder to complent Betts & Garlett
McLean needs to play Luke Ball Role
Walker the utility
Carazzo rotate midfielder
White the utility - go back, ruck or fwd.
Lucas also needs to go back, great skills and reading of ball.

Joseph, Davies, Armfield are good for depth but cant be in best 22 due to kicking issues and composure. Davies could if he improves 15%.
Scotland and Houlihan again help with depth.
OHalpin again only depth; although Casboult should go past him.

Hampson back up ruckman - or 3rd fwd.
Touoy, Kerr and cachia need to play in pre-season for experience.

Disagree with you on this point.

Carrazzo should be the player weeded out of the side, at 27 he has plenty of time to work on his decision making and kicking. Armfield, Davies and Joseph are all young and have time to work their problems and strengthen their abilities.

I read it about five times before I could actually believe that you said to make top four we had to leave Jordan Russell out of the team

FB: Russell , Jamison, White
HB: Bower, Watson, Armfield
C: Walker, Judd, Gibbs
HF: Garlett, Waite, Simpson
FF: Betts, Henderson, Robinson
Foll: Kreuzer*, Murphy, McLean

INT: Warnock, Carazzo, Yarran, Davies

Probably not my ideal line-up, but how I see the 22 starting out (*depends on Kreuzer's knee)

FB: Russell , Jamison, White
B: Diugiud, Jamison, O'hAlipin
HB: Russell, Watson, Ladlier
C: Walker, McLean, Waite
HF: Garlett, Henderson, Judd
FF: Kruezer, Collins, Betts
Foll:Warnock, Gibbs, Murphy

INT:Yarran, Simpson, Hampson & Thornton as Injury replacement.

Look at it a bit and think about it????
But if you don,t agree with say O'hAlipin, Diugiud, Laidlier or Collins just think a bit deeper about it.
Then if you don't agree I respect that but I would think it would be worth millions for the guy who at this stage can dream up the exact group we put on the park for the first game.:D

With CHB Being a huge weakness for us IMO we need to get watson in there asap to learn the game plan so he is ready for the finals (assuming we make them) He needs as much time to get into the team and learn his role as he can get IMO.

With Kruez in the forward line (due to his knee) we can have 3 mid Field interchange with the sub also being a mid will work very well for rotations.

Also with Kruez and watson in waite can be played where ever he needs, start him on the wing to be damaging first up then depending on how the game goes he can go back swapping with lucas or forward swapping with betts, garlett, or walker.

White might get into some trouble early on if he doesnt click right away as we dont want to go in top heavy IMO white jamo bower watson maybe McCarthy are all fighting for spots in the back half and we can fit all of them in.

* Only at FF due to knee as he gets more fit i see mitchell gettin blooded as a FF, also wouldnt rule out McCarthy for FF.

FB: Armfield Jamison Russell
HB: Bower Austin Scotland
C: Simpson Judd Walker
HF: Houlihan Henderson Garlett
FF: Betts Waite Kreuzer
Foll: Warnock McLean Murphy
Int: Gibbs Yarran Carrazzo
Sub: Robinson

Austin being the weird one. Still no genuine CHB to go in at round 1.

I think Robinson could be a good impact player as the sub.
Bringing him off the bench at in to the 3rd quarter with tons of enthusiasm and energy could be quite handy against tiring opposition.

Sorry all a couple of mistakes. see changes in Bold.
Now reads as:
Could be a very good side

Backline has run and Watson to play on the Giants.
Midfield is very good Gibbs need to stay there. McLean needs to stand up
Fwd Line with 3 talls is really good with improvement from Kreuz, Hendo and addition of collins.

Walker to play through fwd line and midfield
Carazzo midfield/tagger
McLean back flank/midfield

B: Yarran Jamison Bower
HB: Laidler Watson Russell
C: Simmo Gibbs Robinson
HF: Betts Hendo Waite
F: Garlett Kreuzer Collins

Judd delisted?

Obviously we're going to make Judd look like a Gibbs clone so the team don't realise he is there to carry them. .. ;)

Note: If you still don't realise, Judd is obviously one of the Gibbs twins. ..

Definately a good side. Just switch Watson/Jamison. And find a spot for Yarran as he is the future. Scotland looks like he would be likely to make way because he is 31, even though he is better than yarran at the moment.

This reserves side would probably beat the blues seniors 2002-2007

we've got great depth across the park.

Our success is now dependent on how the club develops these players
