Traded Zac Fisher [traded with #17 to North for #21 and #25]

I am not a fan of wishing players off our list, but, creatively thinking, I actually wonder what North might offer for a combination of Fisher, Lewis Young (key defender to offset Ben McKay FA) and perhaps Paddy Dow who’s grandfather was a North old boy?

Our three are definitely AFL quality players despite falling out of favour for various reasons. While they are all spectacular depth to our incumbent best 22, this poster has an eye on generation next over stockpiling depth. Would be ecstatic if we could find a way to draft Curtin or O’Sullivan this year.
That wouldn’t get us anywhere near a pick 1 or pick 2 sadly. Could be useful in terms of accumulating picks next year though. If Fisher and Dow are deadset on leaving would be great if we could pack them together to a club.

Not suggesting for one second that it would. Just stating what we have that is “expendable” and potentially attractive to someone else that may contribute to getting us higher.

The point was about generation next over depth “hording” the suggestion of a gun KPD draftee was outlining our biggest future need.

Ah got ya mate. And yeah agree. Important to keep a good next layer there if we can but it’s super important to take the chances to add top talent in exchange for some of that depth if we can.

After Clarko’s rant including not having. 6’6” mature replacement for McKay, a ready to go 200cm key defender might be attractive. The whinging about the Suns having three first rounders was pathetic. Rankine didn’t move for peanuts.

Are you suggesting West Coast is taking Curtin at #2? Will be surprised if you are getting it. Seems to be accepted you have a better chance of getting Sanders than many of us thought though.
Clarko was referencing the 3 academy picks they have who are rated in the first round mate. Glad someone finally called it out - its BS.

Media suggesting a potential five year deal and trade for a second rounder to get to North.

Good grief.

Forget the priority pick north fans.
Get the control out of the hands of the guy who ponied up pick 19 for CCJ.

Absolute madness.
That's Freo pick is it not ?

I've always loved little Fish but if he has been offered a 5 year contract and we might be able to get a future 2nd, it's a done deal.

Frees up $400 - $500k of cap space, lands us an extra pick for the 2 father sons next year and gives an opportunity for a career for a player who will unlikely be best 22 next year.

We have a surplus of half backs and can afford to lose him. His form since moving to half back has actually given us some leverage, plus his contracted status.

Can the afl give north an early second that they have to trade for a player as their Special Assistance Package? We'll give you Lewis Young as well if you take his contract

Has been good since coming back into the side but I wonder if the GWS game has dulled his shine a bit?
Cost us 2 goals, first from a brain fart 50m penalty, then a poor effort on the non preferred coming out of defence.
He kicked a nice goal himself but people will look closely at that GWS game IMHO.

Is he any better than Dylan Buckley? Run fast, do the odd flashy thing but overall not AFL standard.

better with the ball, not as fast, much better sidestep, not as tough doesn't have a tank to play wing.

looked quite good at the end of this season (gws apart) because the team were playing a really organised team defence and let him be an aldi nick daicos but the minute he was asked to defend or is put under pressure he's shown up.

ahhh Zac Fisher... forever fuelling the punters multi bet curse... the W Hayward... The J Finlayson... the J Daniher... that one leg that never gets up if you add any of them in.

P.S. Don't gamble

Just read in the HUN's moneyball section today that Hawthorn are 'not out of the mix' for Fisher

They've been almost unanimously wrong on all of our moves so far.

As above, everyone seems to be throwing Hawthorn up as a name but it's all just darts thrown at the board. We very rarely leak.

Don't really rate Fisher so hopefully not us.
