Amen to that. Can definetley see him playing round 1, if he puts in a really good pre season.Only good thing to come out of him tearing the Legs a new one in the GF. Now do the same to all the other AFL sides.

Happily to be corrected, but won't that depend on long-term injuries? Being on the rookie list and all...
We can nominate one rookie to be on our senior list, courtesy of having only one senior player on our veteran's list. If the club selects Callinan to be their nominated rookie he can play the whole season.
Excellent, I had no idea of this rule. It would be safe to assume we didn't draft a 27 year old to develop him, so he could end up playing a fair bit of footy for us next year
Well, if I know the Crows, they'll still make him earn his place Since we have not yet nominated a rookie, I believe we can do so at any time (I could be wrong about that, there may be a cut-off date that I'm unaware of) and the Crows' usual modus operandi seems to be to wait until they're pushing for emergency selection before taking steps to promote rookies onto our senior list.
You'd have to assume he's by far our most likely rookie of the 2010 crop to play in 2011 though. Schmidt seems to be his only real competitor (Riley still looks a fair way away).
With that sort of description I would rather him a bit outside the 50m so he could kick it to the leader of Walker and Tippett.for those who have not watch callinan train before, I would encourage you to get to crows training and watch his skill level, at CDFC training when ian did not put it exactly on his team mates tit (even if it was 1-2 foot too high) he would punish himself with penalties.....
this is why his foot skills are so elite and exactly what we need inside our forward 50m
I hope Tippett and Walker don't get too used to this sort of treatment at training.for those who have not watch callinan train before, I would encourage you to get to crows training and watch his skill level, at CDFC training when ian did not put it exactly on his team mates tit (even if it was 1-2 foot too high) he would punish himself with penalties.....
Stoked. Welcome to the afc Ian.
That little dinky kick down the wing (from a pack situation) to a team mate, who dishes it back, finishing with the run into the 50 for a goal was very special indeed (about the 1:20 or so mark). If he can repeat that with us, we have a more than serviceable player for the next 4-5 years.
Someone let me know if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure he played more as a mid.I don't watch much SANFL, definitely not enough to get to know the individual players. I like what I see in the highlights package. Seems to be a very nice kick and you can tell he has a heap of footy smarts. Was he played solely as a small forward for Centrals, or did he spend time as a mid too?
Nothing wrong with the blokes kicking. He'd be right up there all over the league, not only our team in terms of using both sides.why hasn't he been picked up before? is it the Barlow effect? his two sided kicking is better than most of his new team mates
If you lack a bit of pace or height but have the skills you'll just about always make it. Skills kill. See the Porpoise.

This is the #1 problem with this board.... People automatically assume a player is the next superstar of the AFC (read McKernan)...
I will wait till i see him in a game of meaningful AFL footy before I judge him....

people dont read other people's post correctly and as a result make quick, easy and embarrassing assumptions
where did I say Callinan was going to be the next Superstar - nowhere
with my post I shared with other members my first hand observations of Callinan and the reasons why his skills were elite and this was a direct result of his attitude towards training..... yes I said that makes him dangerous inside 50 however nowhere did I say Callinan was going to be the next Superstar - this is your assumption, not my post
if your going to quote my post at least read what I have said i IDIOT
Well im sure the whole Adelaide board will await your insight with baited breath...in fact I imagine Ian will also be keen to seek out your assessment.
