Lions shot the lights out and we didn't. We should have been 3 goals up when the Lions re-took the lead in Q2. Tough to win games against better teams when even if you outperform them you don't capitalise on it. That we stayed in it for the full 4 quarters is a positive. It could have become 50 points once they re-took the lead.

There were some bad mistakes (Stewart, and Cutler not going for goal when he should have) and just plain old bad luck (Lions kicking a goal with blood pouring down their face vs an Essendon break being stopped because of Francis' blood on his face) which helped push the Lions ahead.

We've got a couple of players that really oughta not be out there. I'm not sure when Ham and Guelfi and Smith can go but as it stands, the day can't come soon enough
