Pretty poor performance, but youll take the fact that they are pretty good outfit on their home deck and are close to full strength (witts, weller and powell) while we are more hampered by injury and still only lost due to our own errors in front of goal.

Nah I say we lost because of Collins and Mac Andrews (in the first half). Blanketed our forwards and destroyed us on the counter.

I don't think Gold Coast kicked a goal from stoppage until the last quarter. All from turnovers.
I think at one stage their whole score (8 goals 4) was from turnovers. Andrew controlled the rebounds off our bad kicks. He is going to be something. Our kicking efficiency was around 57% in the first. Just not good enough.

We need to learn to put on scoreboard pressure when we have the game on our terms. Should have been 4-5 infront at quarter time.

That we didn't lose by lots is a credit to the players but Turnovers killed our momentumn.

Anyone still questioning Parish's importance to this team should genuinely be banned from the site.
I’d argue setterfeild was missing more, we won cb and that’s parish’s best asset. Setterfeild may have held a few more tackles on Anderson or Rowell, instead of them getting their hands free. Tackling is parish’s weakest asset. I’d personally love them both in the side though.

Suns are a radically different beast at home, we probably beat them pretty comfortably at home under the roof.

I’m far more concerned about the fact that at night, under the lights when the ball gets a bit greasy we are basically cactus

You knew when Rowell or Andrew got it no matter how little time they had they seemed to find someone that ended in a forward entry. Their players looked set up for the hack forward too. They looked so much more dangerous with their forward entries in general. Ours felt like it was going straight to their defenders advantage 70% of the time. A year or two ago that would have ended in a belting so that ability to stick in the contest a positive.

My take. I think Brad has had the fowards functioning the best in years with isolating our forward mids (Langers and Stringer) who have been on the end of some big scoring chains. Wright and Jones has been able to drag best defenders off them!

Today our leading goal kickers got the best defenders and on top of that they (GC) clogged our forward half with extra numbers. The only way we were going to get through that was if our big men (Wright snd Jones) were able to take contested marks in our forward line.

This conundrum was compounded by the fact our two best rucks in Drapes and Goldy did not play in regards to nullifying aerial threats in our forward 50. The end.

Pretty happy with the performance

Won alot of key areas

Pretty off Bryan now, great fantasy ruck but thats about it
This is who Bryan is and has always been. He’s a great athlete and his follow up work is very good. He will get quicks hands out and get foot the ball in stoppages. Tap work is probably already afl level. Unfortunately he doesn’t have any presence in the air or really much physicality on the ground. When he isnt in the ruck has to also be off the ground because he has no effect up forward.

I thought he played pretty well, bar that fumble that cost us a goal.

I don’t know whether he is the kind of ruckman Scott likes though, especially considering he basically needs to ruck solo to be effective.

yeah but so were ours. no screenshot because kayo sucks, but with 15 to go in the third, when the score was 52 to 32, all 52 of their points were classed as turnover and 29 of our points was classed as turnover.

if free-kicks given away still count as turn-overs for the purposes of score source, i dare say many teams this week had more of their points scored via turnover due to the HTB change

I thought he played pretty well too but he was pretty ineffectual due to his lack of aerial ability in the context of the game.
