wouldnt say that. his 4th quarter was very good.
That wasn’t my point
I don’t cate if a player actually wins a game from a one quarter effort
That’s not a standard
A standard is consistency
I’m all for Martin coming back
He does have X factor and is solid at times
But goes missing a lot in big chunks
All I’m saying is if he is quiet afain
I won’t be surprised if he has to find touch and rhythm again in the 2’s

That’s what they do, from 3/4 of next to nuthin’, to winning you a game of footy you hadn’t won in your last 12 meetings.
His first 3 quarters are superfluous, that’s the “X” in the X-factor.

Pittonet won’t be dropped, nor will Owies, Durdin, O’Brien, Setterfield and Fisher.
We just beat two teams that have won 4 out of the last 6 flags.
Some truly bizarre ideas floating around in here.
Cerra is an automatic in, sorry Fogs.
Martin is normally an automatic, but that leaves one of my “won’t be dropped” group look shaky.
How I imagine the poster when I read these kinds of posts:

What leads you to believe we don't need a second ruck against Hawthorn?
The objective of the game isn't to mirror the opposition: it's to beat them.

Ultimately we've got a couple of wins on the board against some quality sides whilst playing an attractive brand of footy, it's hard to be mad at that.
VERY hard to be mad right now!

That says more about you than it does me, eeeek, awkwardl bruv.
(Major edit)
Whatevs, each opinion to their own.

Thanks Jim, doesn't answer the question which wasn't directed at you.

Skyhorse backed away from a pretty clear statement about the ruck matchup against Hawthorn. I'm seeking clarification from him.
Lmao. No I just cbf responding to someone who can't comprehend. I didnt back away from anything.

I said jsos can second ruck in the original post. Its still right there.

It's got nothing to do with comprehension.

You asked we why should carry TDK against a side we don't need two ruckman against. I asked why you felt Hawthorn were a side we didn't need two ruckman against. Then you claimed you never said it.

It's literally right there.

I assumed you had some interesting take on why we could/should go up against 211cm Ned Reeves plus the experienced Ben McEvoy with just Pittonet and JSOS.

Here's the thing about Durdin....he was quieter than last week, but that was mostly because the talls were clunking them and slotting goals early, and late in the game we couldn't get it forward.

There's a real penchant on BigFooty for reactionary changes. Someone has a quiet week, may as well drop them and see if someone else can do more. I'm pretty confident that's not the right approach, nor is it the one the coaches will take.

No "omitting" players after a single quiet outing, especially those in roles which are traditionally feast-or-famine.
Oohhh...like it.

The Hawks will be formidable opposition next week. It’s seems that, pre-season, they have been underestimated. 😳😳😳

Interesting, those looking at Newman to get dropped, how does Williams not come into your line of thinking?
Is it purely based on us paying him $900,000 a year?

Pretty ordinary to bring up the reported salary when it has absolutely nothing to do with the topic.

Williams doesn't come into the line of thinking because he's had 27 touches at nearly 90% efficiency, 9 score involvements, 6 intercepts. A very strong bounce back performance after a quiet season opener.

On the flip side, how does Williams come into your line of thinking? Anything of substance or is it simply a case of 'he's being paid 900k so hE sHoUlD bE dOiNg MoRe'?

We have an engine room guilty of being the best I can so far see, having looked closely at what’s on offer from every other mob, barring the Dee’s.
A forwardline complete finally with Chaz and Haz, Durdin at the feet with Owies, Motlop, Honey etal.,CC doing things like Thursday, that boundary kick wins you most games, even grannies.
Voss is the baker and the icing and he gets to take our club into a stratosphere only we get to taste, 17.
McG floating across back, the way his DNA is programmed, Williams mopping up before the boss sees it, Doch needing something immortal.
The pieces have never been put in places like this for a very longtime.
Still to see, Stocker, Kemp, Honey, Carrol, our backline talls need a hit up, although I have always trusted the Young acquisition, need more though.
TLDR
We have a men versus boys outfit that net several flags now, time is ours.
Voss will ensure we skip ahead of the pack and keep our tally the benchmark, as much as I live and pay honour to Taylor Hawkins, I guy I met, my partners cousin grew up with, we our flag bound.
Be aware
What a stream that is cc, you ok?
😎

To all the people talking up metering out punishment this week to the Hawks for the past can I suggest you watch a replay of the Port game. They are pretty good. I’ll be happy if we beat them.
Hawks have absolutely no one out going into the game and lost wingard at the half. Ports forward line is shithiuse without Dixon cause the other talls aren’t capable of bringing the ball to ground and the backline is just insipid without allir and clurey. Port have dominated them in the major stats. Hawks are absolutely gonna be no easy feat but let’s not forget the facts
