I'm a Schache fan, yet realise he is running out of chances. I'm a bit different to most on here and don't expect Schache to be something he is not. Each player needs to play to their strengths.

I personally would have started the year with Schache at CHB. I thought he did a good job in that role late last year for about 3 or 4 weeks. Not perfect, got beaten in a few one on one (no worse than Cordy/Gardiner), yet what he did well was read the play and take a few intercepts and can use the play well (Melb game at the G comes to mind and the ballarat game). I think he should have been given that role round 1 yet they went with an underdone Gardiner and then Schache was out of the side again.

If he plays up forward he is only a lead up mark who may get on the end of a few and a beautiful kick. He is a smart footballer and will create space for Naughton yet will not crash packs or create the contest people want. I would play Schache for a continued period ahead of Cordy and just see it he can step up. He needs a run of games though at least 5 to 10 as he is a confidence player. If he can't make it this year, probably make the call, yet give him a extended run, others have had it.

Schache or Cordy to pinch hit in the ruck? Pffft, you're all delusional.

McComb is 181cm - Bevo's perfect archetypal ruck backup. I expect it to be Martin 70/McComb 30. (Either that or they'll play him as a crumbing forward because he's never played that role before.)

Game is also setup now for Bevo to go full troll and at stages have all of Naughton, Cordy, Schache and JUH in the forward line, but countering this with at least one instance during the game where all 4 will also be on the bench together.

Sucks that Tim is out.. but just hear me out..

We have a genuine tap ruckman in. Who will maybe ruck 60% of the game. Great for our mids.

Then we have Schache forward (second ruck) with Naughts and Jamarra then as the third tall.

Cordy stays down back which then allows O’Brien third tall.

I don’t hate it..
We had the option to bring in Schache or Cordy as KPF/2nd ruck last week and chose Cordy. Why would we replace that role with the 2nd choice this week? Doesn't make much sense. Similar to the calls that Cordy would be playing back last week, I just don't see it.

I think Cordy will stay in his same role, Bont goes back into his normal midfield role and Schache plays the role Bont did last week in the forward line as the 4th tall. Schache gives an option to swing back if needed.

A forward line consisting of Cordy, Naughton, Schache and Jamarra is extremely tall. No chance Schache and Cordy play at the same end. Doesn’t seem like a Bevo type of plan to me. One will play back and the other will play forward/2nd ruck. Surely? Pretty sure we’ve confirmed Bont will still play more forward minutes.

Not fussed which way they go but whoever does go back, will allow O’Brien to play third tall which is good. Perhaps we’ve opted for another tall defender given the crows have Gollant, Himmelberg and Walker?

We played a 4 tall forward line last week with Cordy, Naughton, Marra and Bont.

Also I'd be expecting a decent amount of bench time for Martin. Cordy will be playing a lot more ruck than he did last week backing up English.
I think he could probably handle 70% TOG at an absolute maximum. I also want to see exactly zero minutes in the forward line for Stef.

Don't want to seem negative but it's more than likely Bevo throws the magnets around mid game and swaps them in 3 positions as the game wears on kpd/kpf/ruck.

Or Schache? Taller and just as good a tank

Don't see any dramatic melts here. the board sounds overall positive with the team selection

JUH still in 22....awesome. Hope he's getting closer with the minutes he has
We lose Garcia and if McNeil moves to wings, who will be our small forward, McComb? Or Libba swapped with McComb? Interesting how it turns
Cordy/Schache. Cordy has better pressure and aggression in F50 and Schache read the play better to intercept at the back, would rather Cordy at front and Schache at back. Whoever as forward will be the 2nd ruck. Dislike if both swing positions every 10 mins
Stiff for Khamis, but I guess Bevo needs more experience. Hope Khamis as sub, not trust Martin can play out a AFL-level game

Whats there to melt over? Buku is the only one who's stiff off VFL form and half our better players are injured

Schache at CHB is a good option
Well worth a try

I seen he is in this week - hopefully to be tried at CHB

This is exactly my thoughts London, he gets thrown around from pillar to post and looks like he knows one mistake and he will get dropped. Last year they had to play him and he actually went ok, this year first game, again thrown onto a wing of all places and makes a mistake and out of the team. Others can make as many as they like (remaining nameless) and keep getting chances.

As someone who knows told me, once you are in Bevo's badbooks you are frozen out for a long time and his projects get chance after chance after chance

He keeps getting chances though? He’s not frozen out at all. If anything he’s been gifted opportunities when he shouldn’t have.

Spot on, I have heard the same from someone no longer at the club. It is a shame he behaves in this juvenile manner.

Hopefully Schache is not thrown all over the park again and is given a set role and not used as the scapegoat. The guys needs confidence and Bevo needs to tell him you have a few games so play with confidence and take the game on.

Schache has been given more chances then he deserves. How many times do we need to see him shite himself in big games before we call a spade a spade with him? He wasn't exactly doing that well as a KPD in the preseason and still had issues of being soft and pushed out of the contest like he had up forward

When was he gifted opportunities?

Had his chances late last year and played well I thought. Played the pre season in the backline ahead of others, then plays first game on a wing of all places and then gets dropped, yes after a couple of mistakes. He is a bloke who gets one or two games and has got dropped consistently, a bit like Lewis Young was, are they actually given a chance to develop and get some consistency, I don't think so.

When has he been given the chances that he doesn't deserve?
