If Zurharr is gettable I’m paying pick ~ 12 and not even thinking twice. Sure ask North to throw us something else back like their 3rd or whatever but we’re at a stage where you can get to a point of over drafting… as silly as that sounds.

Our list is young. Zurharr is literally the exact type of medium sized strong marking and pressure forward we need.

Our first so long as not inside top 8 picks is easily worth it in my opinion.
Sturt can’t get his body right.
Fyfe has an average set shot.
Banfield is just pure trash.
Treacy is still to raw.

Zurharr is 🔑

I’d throw Lobb at the Kangas and add Logue in for free.

He’s one of the best midfielders in the comp at his best and also one of the worst set shots.

I’d prefer not. Someone has to replace Mundy as soon as next year. Fyfe and Brodie would put us in the same spot as this season at least. One of Erasmus or Johnson comes on quick and suddenly our midfield is reasonably deep.
Someone like Angus Brayshaw?

At least with trading we get someone who can contribute immediately rather than trying to rebuild part of our list whilst making the bottom part of the eight with our older players getting older and older.
This is why I’d be very happy to move the pick on. Imo the list age demographic is very thin in the middle.

Logue by himself is probably worth more than Zurhaar imo.

Logue might be the third best KPD here but he’s the sort teams in contention have paid first rounders for if a key defender is the last piece.

Zarhaar is a medium forward. They don’t go for as much generally.

Logue is better than Pearce.
I think that’s pretty clear over the last few weeks. He’s also younger, more durable and much more likely to play 200 games than Pearce .

If we’re only going off the last few weeks…

Logue just notched up game 50 after 6 years. At that rate he’ll notch up his 200th at the ripe old age of 41.

Only 2 months ago Logue was dropped.

I find them both irritating for various reasons and when in the team together the irritation stretches.

Now as good as Logue has been you’ll be hard pressed to find many who would take him over Pearce.

If in some sort of weird world supporters had to select either Pearce or Logue in a true defensive lockdown role to the death? I’d call anyones bluff that selects Logue.

Agree. No one is picking Logue over Pearce. He was dropped and only returned two weeks later as Pearce was a late out in the warm up. After the stunt he pulled in the last quarter yesterday I’d drop him again.

Pearce is 27 years old next week and has only played 72 games. So he will be closer to 50 by the time he reaches 200 games!

Look I think they are both decent players and good enough to be premiership winning key defenders. That why I want them both to stick around.
There are certain teams and players we need both for. Including this weekend against Melbourne.
Carlton are playing with 4 talls in attack and are the number one pressure side i50 in the AFL apparently.
Logue just got a shout out on footy classified as being one of the few defenders in the league capable of handling Jeremy cameron who has been tearing some defences apart this year too.
Hopefully Pearce can show the form he did against Peter wright and Tom Hawkins this weekend.

Is Zurhaar any good though. He only kicks just above 1 goal a game

The rest of his stats don't sound very exciting. He's got a terrible moustache as well View attachment 1407636

He’s useful imo but talk about handing over a first rounder in any capacity is off the mark imo.

Our future second wouldn’t be far off getting it done.

What about Lachie Neale?
Footy classified tonight felt it was certain this speculation would be triggered again come September.
After 2 weeks of shit by us, it looks a bit different now putting him in our midfield.
For the right price I’d do it.

Well we’re gonna have to do something creative. Lobb is as good as gone next season. Tabs can’t stay on the park, something that will probably get worse as he gets older. And I doubt
Amiss & Treacy are capable of leading a team all season into the top 8.

Yeah but I doubt we'd get him for anywhere close to what we believe the right price is, especially seeing how he's back to his brownlow form. Much rather just get brayshaw in there as a FA.

Alex is lucky he's slightly taller, put it that way.

Rather we have a chat with Daniel McStay.
FA, VIC boy but he at least would be worth Lobb’s paycheque.
Really good defensively, and the right
age.

I was impressed with Darcy Cameron at the weekend.
He looked a hell of a lot better player than Rory Lobb didn’t he?

Yes, and out of contract end of this year and significantly cheaper - but we don't really want a player who is slightly better than Lobb on a bad day. I think we either need to upgrade the position or upgrade elsewhere.

Cameron has very good use by foot so as I was saying last year he would be the sort of player I'd want starting forward and working all the way to half back for transition play, as a marking target.

Would loooove Zurhaar coming in.

Medium Forward. Loves a goal. Perfect age bracket between Amiss/Tracey and Lobb/Tabs.

This makes for good reading;
2021: Zurhaar struggled in the early part of the 2021 season, going goalless in each of his first seven games for the season and even spending some time in the backline.

He turned his form around in the second half of the season though, kicking 21 goals in 13 games to round out the season with 31 majors, finishing second in the club’s goal-kicking numbers behind only Larkey.

Missing just two games for the year, he played through a shoulder problem in the back half of the season and remained a strong contributor on the field even while injured.

He kicked three bags of four goals for the season, in Round 9 against Hawthorn, Round 16 against the Western Bulldogs and Round 21 against Richmond.

After his difficult start to the season, Zurhaar was held goalless in only one of his final 15 games of the season, kicking two or more majors in 10 of those games.
