The words of ken.

The below is the context...i suppose it means the season isn't over so we shouldn't be super complacent? He gets paid a lot of money. It's really not fair!

"But I still don't sit here and get comfortable that from 0-5 it's a great result to get back to winning five or your next six.

"... We're still in the competition, that is what you do get some satisfaction out of, because you know how hard this competition is."
I feel like I know what he is trying to say but those words make no sense. Any wonder our players look confused for the first qtr

ffs - it's not like there's any threat of relegation. As a Leeds supporter I understand satisfaction from staying in the EPL for another season by the skin of our teeth. Satisfaction from Port merely being in the AFL this year? Not so much.

Despite all the fluff from Hinkley at today's presser, he did not explicitly deny the GWS rumours. He could have today said the rumours were "categorically false" but he rather focused on not wanting to give the rumour any oxygen and did a lot of deflecting. Classic hot air BS from our former used car salesman.

What else was he gonna say?

'of course I know about the rumours, I made them'

Hinkley, in his 10th season at Port, said it won't be him.

"Even talking about it, I am wasting my time," he said.

"I am not interested in it.

"It's not something we have talked about in any way, shape or form.

"I am coaching Port Adelaide and that is my biggest challenge today, to make sure we're ready for tomorrow night's game."

He could have been far more definitive in shutting them down if they were false, ie something like, "these rumours are completely unfounded and categorically untrue. I have not had any contact with GWS nor has my manager been in contact with any team regarding my services. I am the head coach of Port Adelaide and have every intention of seeing out my contract and look forward to working at this club for many years to come."

He had an option to unequivocally shut down the rumours, and he chose instead to laugh at them and play the deflecting game.

I don't want him shutting them down. I want them to be true.

PORT Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley would like to turn the tables on AFL commentators linking him with the vacant Greater Western Sydney head coaching job.

"I dismiss it," Hinkley told reporters on Wednesday of the speculation.

"I don't take any notice of it because I'm committed to Port Adelaide and I have got a job to do at Port Adelaide.

"This happens all the time, speculation just comes from nowhere and a lot of it, unfounded speculation.
" I'm committed to Port Adelaide and I have got a job to do at Port Adelaide."

lol, this from the guy who threatened to break his contract and take the job at the Gold Coast SUNS.
