That’s still a lot different to 12 months.
Yes of course, I wasn't commenting on the previous error someone else made, just on the reality that 12 weeks is effectively season-ending since we're not going to be playing finals.

Originally it was a 10 week injury and explicitly not season ending according to the club, then five minutes later he was reportedly on the LTI list (the club hasn't confirmed this but its broadly reported) and replaced with a rookie. If all that were true and he came back after 10 weeks, the rookie would be automatically delisted. They'd possibly have to do some manoeuvring to put someone else out of action instead of Cox and retain the rookie, if that's even possible under the AFL rules.

It's much simpler if his injury is now unofficially officially a season-ending injury.

Maybe just a case of reassessing post-surgery and realising it's probably not worth him playing 2 managed VFL games at the end of the year over getting him 100% right for a full preseason?

Usually the time frame includes the build up to full fitness, and he avoided surgery anyway. Took a week and a half to see the surgeon for advice and then landed in a moon boot with a 10 week prognosis instead.

Is best case scenario he gets a full preseason but is mainly easing into it. meaning a likely next AFL game is 10-12m away?
He's out for the season. He'll probably start easing into training before the end of the season and then get a full pre-season

What are his outstanding attributes?
His two way running and his kicking off both legs. Plus Jones Wright and potentially Baldwin are looking as a likely trio up front so how much better would it be if we had two elite kicking 200 cm defenders to be the cornerstone of our defence?
