Yep just found it.

Meanwhile top of the ladder Geelong with 4, and similarly placed Essendon with 7.
What is the total games played this year by our first and second year players compared to the other 17 teams?

I believe we have had the most debutants over the last three years. It doesn’t say much if several players debut but only play a couple of games.

Gollant and Worrell debuted last year and both played 1 game. Gollant has played 7 games this year.

I thought Burgess's big thing was playing through niggles? Seem to remember him talking about it at the start of the year.

edit: here's the quote:

"There's two ways to go about injury prevention, I think.

"If someone has niggles you give them a rest so they complete as many sessions as possible, cut the sessions short if someone's a bit sore, or you can build them up and push them through those periods where they're a little sore, a little bit tender and a little bit fatigued … to provide them with that robustness to get through."

Burgess said he used to subscribe to the former theory before evolving to the latter in recent years.

No doubt that his philosophy is unlikely changed. But when experienced play Joe Bloggs says he can't train with intensity during the week, that won't stop our coaches selecting them, even if Burgo reckons they shouldn't be selected. Our Bicks on here is a classic for believing that Burgo would change our selection culture, there's simply no way that he would.

They shouldn't count it as a debutant unless you play 4-5 games. It's very easy to fudge the figures but playing them for one game.

It's hard to fathom no changes to a team that is sitting 16th having won 1 in the last 5.

Plenty of good candidates to drop and suitable replacements in the SANFL, yet we will select players that haven't trained or are in career worst form.

We have a leadership void and the players who should be carrying the team are too worried about their own form.

We have clearly regressed from 2021, the coaches are in job saving mode.

Old and slow Geelong have debuted more players than a rebuilding Crows. Unacceptable.

Their attitude is: "You don't change a close loss to a finalist." That's where we are at.

10 goal win to the Swans. I reckon every unchanged line up has resulted in a thrashing.

Hopefully a 20 goal win to the Swans. We want to ensure that we can’t get our percentage above GWS by end of season. Plus a 100 point loss might actually alert the selectors to the inescapable fact that some of the players they select each week are not an AFL footballer’s scrotum hair. Pick 3 here we come.

I’m sure we’ll find a way to use that pick on a 180cm mid who ends up becoming a back pocket because he’s got no spatial awareness or maybe we can trade it down and take the next Daniel Talia replacement who gets delisted after 10 games. But don’t worry, that will net us an additional first round draft pick in 2023 that we can use on a perennially injured player who apparently shows promise while not racking up big numbers in the SANFL but just “can’t get his body right”. Let’s not forget to make sure that he has poor kicking skills, can’t have any of those flashy skilful types. No siree, we play tough footy here at the crowies.

Our first round drafting in the last 10 years is the most embarrassingly poor of any AFL club, and it’s not close.

I enjoy the weekly melts from the usual moon howlers but suddenly Geelong are the benchmark for giving KIDS a chance?

Since Nicks took over in 2020, we have had TWENTY ONE AFL debutants in less than 3 years. (plus Hinge who was delisted after a couple of games with the Lions).

The most in the AFL! The only one of these debutants to play less than 5 AFL games is Josh Worrell.

Don’t let the FACTS get in the way of a good rant.

Well at least Worrell will be sub.
I reckon he's just cover in case Dawson can't play, not as the sub. Rowe will get that gig again.

But it shows the people in charge are full of it. They keep banging on about SANFL form and it putting pressure on selection blah blah blah, proof we're developing and the rebuild is working. They haven't rewarded SANFL form for like 10-12 weeks now, just used it to bring back the same players as quick as they could.

Now do no more than 10 games

Rowe is named in Sanfl

Pedlar is 5 games. Cook is 10 games. McAsey 10 games. Gollant 8 games. Newchurch 0 games. Strachan 5 games. Worrell 1 game. I change my original comment to 10 games or under. These are the players we should have pumped more games into. I'm not a fan of McAsey but try him up forward before we delist him. Taylor should debut soon and I give them credit for playing Berry, Soligo, Parnell. I understand going too young isn't ideal but if the youngster is as good or better than the more experienced player they should be played over them.

Where are the weekly denial posts about how we are the youngest team since the under 5s took to the field in Auskick?

Good question.

This week we have 3 players with 100+ games experience, the least in the AFL. Surely we should have dropped Tex, Laird and Smith.

We have Five players over 25 years of age (any guesses how many Geelong players are 30+?).

For the 18th time this season we have the youngest, least experienced team.

Apparently the old blokes who are being gifted a game are 22 year old McHenry and 23 year old Murphy.
