I think they'll make an announcement a week before the last match, not that he'd coach the last match, but it would make sense to have him on board so he can be involved with list management decisions, preparation for the draft and possibly even exit interviews.
Yeah I think just before the end of season makes sense. 1-2 weeks prior to last round (So in another 2 weeks time)

As I mentioned we did similar with brad Scott and it worked out well, he got to watch our last few games in a box with the president knowing he was the coach next year and no doubt would have some opinion on shape of the list next year

Can probably even suggest trialling certain things in the final round that he wants to see before making list decisions etc

I don't have any issue whatsoever if Clarko moves on any of the playing group who are more interested in 'likes' on the socials than getting a kick..

Like I've said before, our list in 2022 will be very different in 2025.

Make it happen Sonja (and Euge - wherever you are).
He traded in for Josh Gibson…

I gots a mates who calls us Norths (yes he's a member) and I reckons its somethings rugbys peoples (both codes) do. Not all the times, just after a couple of beer or a scoobs sometimes. I've only heards rugby peoples refers to us thats way. Obviouslys theys don't gets thes significances of the added "s"s.
Makes sense; as far as I recall North Sydney, Eastern Suburbs, Western Suburbs and South Sydney were always Norths, Easts, Wests and Souths.

I remember Brad Scott watching us beat an invincible StKilda team late in the season and taking those lessons into the following season... and losing by 100 points to the Aints. He went out of his way to not do any of the things that allowed us to win that previous game.

“Norths”? (Insert see see’s gif again)
When I was in grade five in Cairns, we had to write a story for an English assessment. I wrote about North Melbourne.

I still have it somewhere, so will have to dig it out, cause I can't remember what I wrote. But I know I wrote 'North' at least 10 times.

My stupid English teacher went and added in red pen "s" after every North. Every single one. I remember thinking to explain it to her, but she was a Queenslander, so wasn't much point.

But you'd think after the first few times she'd think maybe this wasn't just a mistake and he is deliberately using North. Obviously not.

He’d already be having a close look and thinking about what he’ll do imo.

He traded in for Josh Gibson…
Hawthorn F&B in their premiership 2013 & 2015 seasons Josh Gibson?
Three time premiership player Josh Gibson?
All Australian Josh Gibson?

Clarko coming back is the perfect timing for us and for him.

The symmetries of him being a small but extremely feisty man and the stature of our great club are identical.

He leant his craft from the great D. Pagan, he knows our history (he was part of it), he knows we punch above our weight and bringing new premiership cup(s) back to Arden Street will be personal. He’s a Shinboner.

Make it happen Sonja.
Clarko himself literally punches well above his weight,,,,,just ask Aitken!

I'd be wary of the views of Hodge, Lewis and Mitchell on Clarkson given that they all finished their careers away from Hawthorn. Yes Hodge and Lewis appeared to enjoy their new clubs (not sure if Mitchell did) and could even see the logic in it but it's likely they hold some resentment towards him.

Footnote: I'd be wary of Lewis' views on anything - sniping, pretentious halfwit.
Yeah don't disagree but would say Hodge would be pretty happy with his lot at Brisbane both playing and after, seems really settled. No-one would be surprised if Clarko is highly opinionated and rubs some people up the wrong way. That's just the way of the world and typical of highly successful individuals.

Did anybody watch Footy classified last night? Hutchy suggesting both North & GWS want more time before deciding if Clarko is right for their club.. He implied Clarkson personality could be a issue if a club wasn’t strong enough at board level etc
I stopped listening after he suggested Brisbane should get rid of Chris Fagan and bring in Clarkson.

I like to think of myself as a thinker.

I'm reading on here about when we should announce Amish Al as the coach. Now we've had issues with our last two coaches- yes? Yes is correct.

What if we don't ever announce him, play it a bit cool and don't ever mention it. Just roll out the old going through the process.

Even at rd 12 next season and we're 9 from 11- we just point out that there's boxes to be ticked and there's processes to, well process.

We just leave Patch up in the box with crayons and a colouring book. And Angry Al can be below deck punching holes in walls.

If we position the huddle near the players race for 1/4 & 3/4 time. Al can just hurl abuse from the darkened corridor.

We can nary afford another coaching ****-up, and I see this as the perfect way to avoid any further finger pointing.

Or we announce him before the ink has dried, with a marching band and the **** you Corn banner we had made in advance.

Either or for me really.

This is the best idea I've heard all year.

And Northern Suburbs, Eastern Suburbs and Southern Districts in the Shute Shield rugby.

The Brisbane RL competition pre NRL days were similar, it’s a northern states thing that sometimes creeps in to the language.
