1. 'wog' comes from 'golliwog'. whether you personally are offended or not, it's a racist term. some 'wogs' (guess, what, I'm Italian-Australian, too) may self-identify, but why risk pissing off your fellow fans?
2. our first jumper literally has the Italian flag colours. come on. if you grew up in Freo (i did) you played round ball (see? that wasn't hard, was it?) AND AFL. or followed them, anyway.
3. Names like Modra, Pavlich = they're not Anglo names. your team's the one you love because of people who endured a lot of bullshit. why add to it for another generation?

no-one's trying to piss on your chips. it's really just about respect, and it's not difficult to do.

We used to call soccer "wogball" when we were kids back in the 60's and 70's.

Those were the good old days.

You played cricket in summer and footy in winter and in-between you played british bulldog. Play anything else and you were a ****tah. Take-away meant Fish n' chips and the only beer you drank was emu export or swan lager. Only w***ers drank anything else. If you got pissed at the session all you had to do to get home was to follow that wobbly white line that sometimes was in the middle of the road.
