We've signed J Hunt just hasn't been announced .

Great news. Should help strengthen the bonds in the group.

Paddy Sweeney beat you to it this time Rhino

It was Melbourne's F&B last night, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Hunt attended ( Jackson was there ) and after bidding his team mates farewell and closing out the official formalities of the season, that now the announcement, of his move west will follow.

Hard to see how Freo will be able to provide the top 7 draft pick Melbourne are demanding. Plus another first rounder. Will Melbourne blink?
I initially thought this but they have this years 1st round pick (13) and their future 1st

They’ll also likely get -
• Norths future 2nd round compo pick for Logue
• Norths future 3rd round compo pick for Tucker
• Carlton’s future 3rd round pick for Acres

It’s pick 8 admittedly but port might take Fremantle’s 13 and Norths F2 and F3 in a swap

Fremantle could then offer pick 8 and their F1 to Melbourne

They also have possible trades for Meek and/or Lobb to bring in other picks

I find this exciting and good progression for our new era starting from next season. It's a quick turnover of the list happening and gives me faith that they know what they are doing. This will get us back up the ladder quicker then a long 6 year drawn out rebuild media and experts were predicting for us.

We might be back contending if our drafting goes well in 2-3 years time.
Had to be done. I'm optimistic about next season and looking forward to all the new comers coming in.
Don't come around here with your sunny optimism, kn hell you haven't even given Nissie and Simmo the obligatory kicking on your way through.
Do better.

Pick 13, future 1st, Logue, Tucker and Acres all out for Jackson.

That's a huge price to pay

Nah I actually have. I've been calling for Nisbetts head for weeks now. His a big reason we have fallen off the cliff this season cutting staff and the complacency during last season off season.

We've had a season from hell but seeing some change. Any change has to be a positive. I'm just glad we are getting rid of dead wood on our list. How can anyone not be happy about that.

Not even sure we'll want a player as stupid as Dev next year. Bloke won't play 10 games for the Lions in 2023. This is Ah Chee levels of contract incompetence.

Neale, Zorko, Mcluggage, Dunkley, Ashcroft, Fletcher. Berry, Rayner.. don't come crying back to uncle Trevor when it doesn't pan out cob.

What makes you think Port will be open to dealing out their first rounder and split it? Because they need multiple extra draft selections to trade for all the players they are chasing?

I like this move. Costs next to nothing and provides something our lists sorely lacks.
I can live with it. I think you need to give some kind of license to coaching staff to go and get players they want if the cost is low. That being said, i don't really like it. I don't like the mindset they are in that they are chasing 28 year olds. It is more evidence that they are not prioritising the fast tracking of youth as the the most important thing. And i don't understand where they think they will find a spot for this guy in the 22. We have HBF'ers coming out of our ears now. How about they go and get some midfield depth instead if they want to chase 28 year olds.

Its probably more appealing to stay at Brisbane for another year. He wouldn't get a game at Freo, and we're dog shit.

Yeah it's this year or never for me with Dev. I don't think his much at all and come next season if he isn't in Brisbane best 22 it shows his not good enough. There will be better options out there by then and the only thing Dev has now is that we don't know much about him. That's his carrot. We will know with another season though at Brisbane and there's two ways this goes for him. He will cement a best 22 spot for Brisbane and in that case he won't go anywhere or two he drops off again next season for Brisbane and by then we will know his not good enough. If he goes down that path let him get delisted because we will know what type of player he is by then and won't go after him.

Man Richmond is going to be contending again with Hopper and Taranto. campaigners
Vic clubs still profiting off the expansion feeder clubs. Meanwhile we can’t even get a bloke back home who has a couple of kids that need good care without causing uproar and having to pay through the nose for.

Easy to build lists when you can afford to wait and see. A lot less pressure on nailing draft picks when you know you can just trade for the best Victorian ones in a couple of years time.

Here we are over here having to build solely from drafts due to location, with no compensation to offset this disadvantage and still being one of the most successful clubs in the league since our inaugural year.

It’s not like we didn’t pilfer GWS for Zac Langdon two years ago

The only thing hunt didn't cost us is a draft pick.

He's certainly costing us more coin, probably cap and list flexibility in 3 years time and a youngster more game time.

Any rumours on how much he gets over 3 years?
