dont know why we arent looking at jaeger. hed be good cover whilst the young ones get some games
The issue with our list is too much cover and not enough young ones.

Shuey, Yeo, Gaff, Kelly, Sheed will all eat plenty of midfield minutes in the immediate future. We don’t need more, and we don’t need to give up assets. DRAFT DRAFT DRAFT.

Haven't read the last 30 odd pages. Has anyone mentioned that you currently have the best future hand to trade up for Gold Coasts future first round pick?
AsterixTheGaul was all over it

Has a really nice spreadsheet to prove it as well

FWIW - sharing my run sheet on future picks

Freo, Pies, Cats and Port investing in the now.

What a surprise - Suns banking points (and yes this year they have a reason to but old habits ......)

Melbourne from a futures perspective are looking bloody strong.
This was the post briztoon

Might need some adjusting for trades made later this afternoon

Sorry, but I don't see a comment where he mentions trading for GC's first round pick next year.

Also, it's wrong. We currently hold our own F1, F2, F3 + Gelongs F2 & F4.

Probably best referring to Lore's future pick tracker.

I would say that Melbourne will have a very strong hand in 2023 - 2 x R1 and 2 x R2

Assuming Freo and Melbourne play off in the GF, Melbourne have pick 17, 18 and the equivalent to buy pick 13

WCE will be strong and depends where we and Port finish just how strong.

If we finish bottom 4 and Port 9th, then we will have our first rounder and other picks worth 2,491 points or pick 3.

We still have sufficient to buy a Suns pick at say 12, take 4 12 and 22 to the draft next year (that includes a sizable premium or margin of error)

4 and 12 next year would be setting us up brilliantly. Hopefully that will be 3 really good years of drafting getting a dozen A and B grade players.

I think I was in the middle of extrapolating Brisbane as your picks are up in the air. It is accurate for most clubs and will be spot on Wednesday night

I'm pretty sure GC will want your pick 22 in any trade for their first round pick. I'm not sure they'll be too interested in accumulating more late picks. Like all other teams, they can only take as many picks to the draft as they have available list spots. I'm guessing their priority will be to minimise any potential draft deficit on their 2024 first round pick.

Just updated - but it's late and I have not double checked it

Not interested the details as it stands, I wanted to show who had what and roughly who had muscle power in 2023

I expect Suns will want points for 3 academy prospects - two of which will be pointy end.

Who knows which Sun will want to go home in 12 months time - I hope for the expansion success it is nobody and no salary dumps

Meh I'm not feeling much warmth to Rioli atm, maybe when he retires.

Dream scenario:

1. Rioli gets suspended again;
2. Port Power's contract is so s**t they are trapped for four years;
3. Junior spends the rest of his career fishing and smoking buckets in the Tiwis on Port's dime; and
4. Hinkley is signed until 2035.
Well hiiii di hiiiiiii

- Mr Hinkley

Watching Trading Day on Fox before…. Did Dermott pretty much say the Hawks are tanking for next years draft?

Was a strange pitch he put forward to defend Mitchell and there trade moves
Hawks are running the risk of selling too many oldies and ending up in a 10 year rebuild. They have already missed finals for 4 seasons in a row and I still don't see any young players projecting as elite mids or KPP.

I have made some assumptions on finishing in 2023 (main one is Suns make the 8 but knocked out R1)

They should have over 4,000 points and at worst will have to match 80% of 5,180 or roughly 4,000 points (I think their top 2 are early but put i worst case scenario)

List spots for the Suns in 2024 are going to be very tight if they take all 3 NGA's and another

I know the club wants Ginbey and Hewitt but i have a feeling we not going to get one of them and this trade will backfire.

Missing one or even both of those boys will not mean the trade has backfired by any stretch

If we truly want Ginbey, we’ll take him with pick 8 unless he gets taken before then. Should that occur at least three of Humphrey, Clark, Hollands, Phillipou or MacKenzie will be at our pick. All good options and some would argue better than Ginbey

If Hewett is gone by pick 12 then Busslinger, Hotton or one or two of that group mentioned before would still be available.

Assuming Ashcroft goes at 1, there’s at least 9 players that will be taken in the 6-15 range of the draft that I suspect we’d be happy to take. Only 3 will be gone by the time we take our first pick and at least 3 will still be there when our 2nd comes around

No need to pin all our hopes on getting both Ginbey and Hewett
