You’re kidding, but Mornington is not going to be much of a drive to Dingley, so it has some merit for anyone who would like to live down that way. 30 min drive to training.
I’m happy to live down there but at almost 48 and with covid lockdowns not being kind to the mid section I don’t see a comeback on the cards. Plus I’m stuck in the UK…

Sam has yet to be able to attract any talent to the club.. He was active in calling coaches apparently last year to offer our players, no takers and also they leaked it to the media... This year all his attempts to attract players have failed,,, bit embarrassing..Amon only because we offered alot more than Port did.. Senior players very happy to leave... Wonder if he's got much respect in the footy world amongst coaches and players.
Extraordinary.

Hawks: O'Meara, 24
Gws: 18, 19, O'Halloran, Whitfield/Haynes

Hawks: mitchell 48
Pies: 27 poulter

Hawks: future 3rd
Freo: Meek

In: Whitfield/Haynes, 18, 19, O'Halloran, Meek, Poulter, 27
Out: gunston, mitchell, omeara, 24, 48 future 3rd

6, 18, 19, 27, 52, 65

Then trade 19 on draft night for a nice package

The tricky part is that Freo have little to play with. No current or future first round picks to offer thanks to the Unicorn (Luke Jackson) trade. They will have to either trade out Rory Lobb to WB for pick 21, which would mean they can't afford to lose Meek afterwards. So pick 21 would need to be involved as a straight swap, or if they hold onto Lobb they might try to swap JOM for Meek, along with a late sweetener. The latter deal would be a poor result as the earlier picks are far more valuable to us where we currently sit.
If Freo's recent hardline trading stance is anything to go by I think this will go right down to the wire. It's a shame JOM is keen on Freo, as GWS would have the superior trade offer.

Who’s to say that it is Freo or bust, it might be his first preference, but he might be open to GWS move as well. Which then creates a bidding war.. If we don’t get an acceptable deal, he can keep him to his final year of his contract. This trade has to be a win for the club, The same with the pies for Mitchell, you pay fair market price or we keep him to his contract.

The poll in this thread has “smashed it” and “did very well” for outcomes that I’d have as about good/ok to be honest. Hopefully we can get those deals done as outlined but “smashing it” would surely include a significant salary dump somewhere and some other incoming talent today beyond Meek.

Jog on Junior

Shocking take

We bust a gut to get JOM. He got security, money, rehab, and we got his good looks, the promise of his GWS boyfriend, a Judd like false hope and not much more.
I'll be happy not to hear the calls of JOM for captain anymore.

I don't understand why he hasn't been shopped more before now, but get him somewhere else so we can move on.

Its a shame, but I already look on this post 3 peat hangover/ bottoming out as th JOM years. Unfair, but i want it to be over.
