Bit disappointing he'll be a sub, hopefully he can be elevated to the main 22 next week.

Well he kinda did say that. But said if we have an early injury he's confident Hewett will be okay. What's the alternative? "Look, we're ****ed if we lose a man early, Hewett will blow up and I can see us getting run over the top of"

I actually don't mind that. We've bemoaned the club's tendency to 'forward flank' our midfielders but that's sort of been because those midfielders have been West, O'Neill, Ainsworth etc who aren't actually natural forwards with actual goalsense in the slightest.
Been ages since we've had a genuine mid/fwd who'd be dangerous as both. We've had a few fwd/mids (Rioli, LeCras a bit) - very small distinction but I like the flexibility it brings our side. Lets him get games and experience at AFL level before he's big, fit and hardened enough to hammer out entire games in the guts.
