The whole point for me is it is just a dumb action not needed in the game. Do not care how soft the impact is you simply do not need to do it. He deserves a week for stupid. My opinion is if you want to punch a bloke you get 1 week to start off with as low impact then you go up the scale from there. It is not a football act . If you want to punch blokes then take up boxing. I would be more impressed if he stuck to his normal game and just kept up the physical contact with his tackling and pressure.

They know they stuffed up with merrett and thought the efc bleating about Caldwell potentially missing would another excuse for efc supporters to whinge. Especially when him playing (or not) against the cats will have no impact on the inevitable reaming we'll cop.
