What They're Saying - The Bulldogs Media Thread - Part 4

Side swipe to Bont or the media or whoever picks GOTY?

Can't stand that show of the Buffoons on it. Made fun of a relative of mine who was at the airport for our prelim against GWS. Really low.

If you’re happy do do, can you tell what they said?

If you’re happy do do, can you tell what they said?

My relative was watching the players come down and escalator and was oohing & ahhing (as you do) and they let it run & laughed and when it panned back to the panel I think Dunstall shook his head at the camera & said may have said something - although I can't remember if/what was said, the inference was obvious.

I really can't stand the culture around making fun of fans for their behaviour/what they're wearing etc. It's horrid. BT is one of the worst - if he gets through a broadcast without poking fun at someone who clearly has some form of disability and is just having fun in the crowd, it's a miracle. It's all very gross.

The genesis being that class act, 'Street Talk' with Sam Newman. I remember some of the poor Footscray folk really copping it. Just a really questionable, cringey tone that I'd hope you wouldn't get away with now.

TBF to Collingwood, they are very watchable. This is gold for that particular publication. Essendon are over-performing but it's probably a bubble that's not far away from bursting which will provide an equally lucrative storyline.....so much promise...finals now gone...is Scott the right man?.....whilst Pies continue deep into the season.... win win for Hun.

The remedy is simple KH....don't buy or read the Hun.

It's enough that I have to suffer Garry Lyon's whining and nasal commentary on gameday coverage periodically. I have given up on footy media and basically don't consume any at all...this site being the exception from March...ish to the end of September.

Footy is now over-exposed in terms of media coverage and it doesn't engage me let alone enhance my fan experience.

Or maybe I'm just getting old....

Essendon probably still end up making Finals I think. Remember they still have two games against both North Melbourne and West Coast. That’s 4 guaranteed big percentage boosting wins I suspect. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if they win enough games to play finals. It’s amazing how unfair the AFL fixture is for some teams and how other teams get given that sort of a gift.

It is most certainly the former.....

There are too many hands to feed in the media for the AFL game.

I only scroll the web page
You may have missed the point , their coverage has nothing to do with success.
Been this way for a number of years now .

I quite like that one. Our red and white stripes are still there, and it's not overstated.

A nod to our history, but also to our indigenous players past and present, and other members of our indigenous community - supporters, coaches, administrators.

Any idea who designed it this year?

I don’t mind the Bulldog as our mascot but maybe we should be the Dingoes for indigenous round? I know I say this every year. We were once the Saltwater lads, we could have the indigenous fish of the Maribyrnong River.
Maybe the Maribyrnong Dingoes?

I watched Bounce last night...
Theres's your first mistake.

From my limited exposure of that show, Im not sure that they are in a position to be throwing stones at anybody.

The Bounce in particular just seems an exercise in unfunny guys trying way too hard to put a light touch to a weekend of football. I actually like Jason Hadfield Dunstalls faux gruffness when he restricts his talents to being s a commentator on the game, but he has the comic sensibilities of a sledgehammer to the testicles. Stay in your lane Jase! The less said about the rest of the guys on that program and their low-rent, cringe inducing efforts the better.

Im sure there are countless football loving comedians in this town who could polish the turd that is the Bounces format and make some kind of entertainment out of it. Because they guys doing it at the moment clearly can't.

This on so many levels.

It gets tiresome sifting through a mountain of shit just for that one tasty peanut of Bulldogs related nourishment that they serve up during the countless post weekend review shows.

Watch our games. Come in here vent/celebrate/troll/whatever and then do something constructive with your time.

Our 2023 indigenous jumper that we'll wear in R10/R11. The Asics website has uploaded it early...

Finally. A designer who understands that you can use the classic motifs of our jumper in a non linear way. Yet still make it readable and true to its origins.

Nice.
