We need a Jaiden Hunter to go with Jayden Hunt to complete the set.

I think that only really applies to Vic, and especially Vic Metro kids. With few exceptions (JHF) WA and SA kids grow up knowing there is a 89% chance (16/18) they will be moving interstate. And have that acceptance from an early age.

It's really only Vic kids where 10/18 (55%) chances say you'll stay at home that can do this with any real chance of success.
I was wondering, could West Coast and GWS be involved in trades this year?
Also, i think thry should ban first year players from moving clubs after 1 year.
They get 10 weeks leave and 3 for Christmas, plus 4 days for the bye. That is plenty of time to go home.

Anyone know when Tom Lamb played?

Players needed to have multiple nominations from clubs to be asked to have a medical

Essendon, Fremantle, Geelong, Hawthorn and the Bulldogs had one spot each available when the season started. Whilst Port, GWS (2), Richmond, Hawthorn, Sydney and WCE have, or can, open a spot due to LTIs sustained during the season so far

I reckon it’s Buller or Maric for us.

At Brisbane it's pretty competitive for a game, maybe Devan Robertson wants to come home when he's off contract at the end-2023 and get more game time with the Eagles, he's only 21 turning 22. At the end-2024 coming off contract are Jaxon Prior (21/22yo from West Perth) and Brandon Starcevich (23/24yo from East Perth) and being fringe best22 they might be only getting modest money offers from Brisbane to stay on. Starcevich getting more games in 2023 than Prior. Both underage WA talents and they are good ages to play 5-7 years in a rebuilding Eagles outfit if their bodies are in good nick.
Just say you don't watch Brisbane, without actually saying you don't watch Brisbane.

Starcevich hasn't been a fringe player since 2019. He's a lock best 22, and our lock down small/medium defender.

Just an email would suffice.

And 3rd in your best and fairest last year he’s not going anywhere very good player

Was wondering but if you think Brisbane will get on the front foot with trying to get future picks for Levi Ashcroft

I support you in thinking this draft is deeper - hence holding both Port's R2 and R3 picks are valuable. The R2 is likely to be early to mid 30's and the R3 is likely to be early to mid 50's.

Alternatively we can look at buying a Suns R2 (they hold the Crows and their own) and using the 2 x R3 this year and the R3 and or 4 next year to get in earlier.

I a watching the big footy mid year mock draft and the picks are getting to 60 - there are some good prospects yet to be selected.
I keep saying this in multiple places, so it's not just aimed at you.

The Suns just can't take a dozen picks to the draft to match the bids on their academy kids.

They have to stick to the AFL's rules, one of which states they can only take as picks to the draft, as they have available list spots.

Most I can see them taking is 5 picks to the draft. I don't know what they plan to do with their picks in terms of trades and players wanting out. I would guess if they trade a player out, they'll probably prefer future picks for such players (Flanders, Sharp, Hollands).

If they are going to trade picks for more points, it'll have to be a live trade at the draft, where they are then allowed to hold extra picks, and it'll have to give them a points upgrade of say 200 points on their second round pics on the night. Your two 3rd round picks are less in value than GC's current pick 27, and are about a 50 point upgrade on their pick 30.

I can also see the Suns packaging their first round pick and future first to get up the draft, and opt out of next years draft (or conversely trade both picks for Norths or West Coasts future first).

I don't know. Personally I would prefer a pick in the early to mid 3rd round for Robertson (don't know if I buy this talk of Melbourne clubs being interested in Robertson, as I just can't identify one, but Twomey keeps mentioning it).

We could look at trading out a couple of fringe players at the end of 2024 if need be. It's possible we also have an academy kid who might attract a mid to late first round bid as well.

Thanks - fully aware of the places and picks requirements. Also not worried as to what has been agreed and will be done on live trading verses keeping the idiots on trade radio happy in trade week

As a club that will be taking a large number of picks, there is value in us babysitting the Suns pick and we have form - just ask Sydney.

Sharp is out of contract and out of favour so a future 4th may be enough. Hell, he is a classic pre season draft. Neither Flanders or Hollands are going to get big bids from clubs inside the Suns R1 pick. They would need a King or Lukosius departure to generate top end picks and I hope both stay and stop the bleeding

In terms of trading up - they will be paying through the nose to get ahead of the Walters bid. Besides - when have the Suns brought forward picks? The are serial pick bankers. And what value would you place on their future R1? At the negotiating table it is probably only worth an early teens.

If we want one of the R2 picks, it is easy to go into future picks which is the Suns usual order from the menu

Was just trying to say that Suns would probably be prioritising points in this draft, when trading picks.

And prioritising picks in next year’s draft when trading players.

As an example could trade Hollands for Carlton’s future second round pick. Flanders for a Bulldogs future second round pick.

Wow, just astonished by some of the players on the MSD medical and some not. Hopefully the talks are hawks chase a taller player if we aren't bottom and they look at Phillips or Buller and we end up with Maric. I honestly don't know what it is clubs are hoping for out of this, there are better players. The highest rating I have on any other was Hansen Jnr and I had a watch and see on him as a potential rookie end of year. The only other player of interest to me is Clay Tucker but he is a long term project. Is a genuine ruck and has a good leap but other than that, there's no other real AFL attributes.
