I'd bid on him with pick 1.

Yeah after watching vision I'm hoping we do too. But what is it looking like that would cost GC? It seems inconceivable that they don't match, but depending on what picks they can muster there's a point at which the costs surely become too high for them.

It costs 2400 points to match a bid at pick 1.

Gold Coast currently have about 3600 points with their first 5 picks (they currently have 9 picks worth points).

They could possibly get to 4600 points with live draft night trades.

They can also go in to a points deficit on next year’s picks.

They’re not going to have a problem matching bids on all three kids.

Pick one isn't worth 3,000?

It was mentioned earlier in this thread that they're only able to bid on 2 of the 3 due to some little known AFL rule.

Only if all 3 attract a first round bid - can only match 2 in the first round

West Coast chairman Paul Fitzpatrick has extraordinarily declared the struggling Eagles won’t claim the dreaded wooden spoon despite admitting the club plans to make no immediate changes to stop their spiralling season.

* me.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s also still talking us up as making the finals. Delusional.

This is the same dude who admitted he thought right up until the start of the season he thought we were top 8 contenders.

The Bombers game last year cost us a fair bit at the trade table all for a 5 min sugar hit for the supporters.
You would think pick one this year is worth a fair bit more than Cadman.

I don’t want to support a club that doesn’t value winning

If we get pick one so be it but the day someone within the club says we don’t want to do our best to win or are happy to finish last is the day I’m done with them

Who are we shopping around? And yeah you’s just resign your has been players up for 2 year contracts

Port does dodge trade shit evey year !

You shopped around ladhams.

You invited Graham to tour you facilities then pulled the pin on him when JHF asked for a trade .

You approached Rioli when he was on grievance leave from our club .

Nah they have so many picks in the 2nd and 3rd that cover the 3 academy players that will go in the first round

Nah they can match all 3 if they don’t make finals and even if they do they can work around it

Good point

I’d forgotten when I posted earlier that making finals was the qualifier for the restriction

Ahh nah we didn’t Sydney wanted him and we were happy to let him go because he was always getting into trouble off the field.

So you’re telling me if Eagles had the chance to get JHF you would sign Graham instead? STFU!

If he didn’t want to leave WC Rioli wouldn’t have even spoke to us

If Gold Coast miss finals, they can match bids on 3 kids in the first round.

If Gold Coast make finals, but don't get to a prelm final (so top 8), they can match bids on 2 kids in the first round.

If Gold Coast finish top 4, they can only match a bid on 1 kid in the first round.

This rule only applies to academy kids, and does NOT apply to father son kids.

Well anyone that isn’t injured or have a history of injuries would be an improvement on 3 of them… anyone can be better than gaff. Hell paddy Dow deserves a go in our side before he does… Dev Robertson would be an improvement on gaff. I said last year we should have gotten Briggs from gws. Now we should get either a Flynn, Jordan sweet or heaven forbid Pruess would improve what we have.

Bailey Williams has actually been pretty good lately I’m not sure ruck is where Eagles should put their attention

That’s fair enough and to be honest I’m in the same camp. The issue is it does come at a cost. I doubt we are good enough anyway to win 2 games the turnaround would have to be pretty big from what we have witnessed of late.

Also how do you think West Coast got Tim Kelly to decide to go to them?

Such bias mindset thinking your club doesn’t do what all clubs do
