My point is that it happens with more than half the young players in the league - particularly in their 2/3 year on a list. Young player comes in plays well holds spot next week.
It’s a fundamental in AFL that happens with every club all of the time

Yes it happens, those young players, did their coach say they weren’t ready, scraped in on the day due to illness, played well and then kept their spot? Got any names?

Before this year I agree , we had no plan re sub

This is the 1st year of a tactical sub .....that's why there was no plan ....that said, nearly every team selects a runner

It maybe Ned's best role .....but why wouldn't it suit Soligo ?

In support of your POV .....you don't rate Laird, Dawson, Rachelle, Pedlar, Soligo ......don't confuse the kids not being at their peak physically & mentally in their 2nd & 3rd years, with not having the cattle

Also don't confuse Keays disposal with being a bad MID .....otherwise it's not good news for Parish, Bailey Smith, Oliver (rated in the top 3 worse disposers of the ball by foot), Taranto (easily the worst), who was given a 7 year Contract despite horrid disposal

He'd be first picked at Port if I was a selector there. He's gone from being a large bellend to a likeable bloke on field I reckon. Would love him at the Crows.

If the rumours are tru and Port might have some outs due to illness - it probably evens the game up a bit.
Almost 50-50 if that happens.

I can't understand the pants-wetting on here. This game always was 50/50. Crows' best performances are against the quality sides. But showdowns are showdowns. We might get pantsed, or we could give them another belting they so richly deserve, or it could be a heart stopper. If we're on, we go ok.

Danger and Duncan are still considered elite mids.

I suspect we will see ROB winning most taps and dropping them at his feet. I do believe Hinge and Jones are easily our best wingers so they will play a key role.

It means a congested 1m handball game for Laird and Crouch - certainly mix it up but we should be aiming to create the body congestion in the midfield while using our wings and flanks to run at the wide tapped ball.

We have seen time and time again we struggle to move the ball cleanly in those congested spots while our opposition sits out waiting for the mistake or the errant handball out - as noted we cant allow Port to do that. Everybody needs to be switched on and we need RoB most of all

Will be the most experienced team in terms of total games played we have fielded for the year. Note that Tex missed the WB game, Smithers missed the Brisbane game and Laird missed the Melbourne game. Will also be the first game this year we will be fielding all eight 100+ gamers now on our list. (not including Seedsman). I'm assuming Ned as the sub.
I think the trending slope is slightly less than 23 games per round, which to me suggests a slight bias towards bringing in less experienced players.
